Scott stands out as the best bartender here. He is very friendly and welcoming. Love the keiki juices especially the pineapple. For breakfast, I prefer the rice bowl and musubi.

If you’re head downstairs to the the restaurant and bar:
Along with the mediocre “meh” cafeteria quality food, the evening staff doesn’t get your order correct, forgets the items you ordered, doesn’t ever check when you want something else, there is always a “Oh I forgot” every time I stay here for work trips. You have to ask for salt and pepper and when it finally shows up it paper packets, ketchup comes in a thimble and it takes forever to get more. Its a lot like sitting at the keiki table. I wonder if they will ever treat people as adults. They certainly have big time restaurant prices. There are other Hilo restaurants that have the same or lower prices that treat the customers like family and the food is awesome. When Abraham was behind the bar I was always treated like a king, but they just don’t do it for me anymore. The views and feel or the restaurant and bar are the wonderful, it’s sad the food and service don’t reflect that.

Drove out here bc we looked at menu online. Got here and they didn’t have any of the food items on the menu. No edimame. No pork

Patio area was nice and well used. Had coffee ☕️ and drinks in the evenings. View is very nice with water and Mauna Kea. Didn’t have any food; however, what others ordered looked good.

It will be wonderful with some local draft beers. This is the only restaurant opens for travelers until very late. Dictatorship of Astronomy has a limited power here.
