We have eaten here for years and always loved it. We came in tonight and the food was great as always and so was our server but the biggest downer was the atmosphere of the cooks. In the past we had cooks that hooped and hollared and made everyone feel welcome and it seemed like they loved their jobs. Now… the new cooks are static, stiff and are not welcoming. Made the experience seem dull and as if they didn’t want to be there.

There were plenty of tables open but the hostess still made us wait several minutes for a basic table for four people with no explanation on a Saturday afternoon. She was somewhat rude and did that to multiple customers before finally deciding to seat people without any customers having left the restaurant (no extra space was needed anyway), and there seemed to be some wait staff standing around.
Our server Jason was attentive and friendly. The food was good, as usual, with the grillers working hard.

It was our first time. It was really good. We will be back. Is it expensive? Yes but so is every where else. Also its buffet cooked fresh everytime. Cant beat it. Yummy in my tummy.

While visiting Springfield, MO, I stopped in for lunch at HuHot Mongolian BBQ. I was promptly greeted and seated, and my server was quick to take my drink order and guide me toward the food bar. Everything started off well—until I got to the grill.
As I always do, I asked the grill team to add a couple of eggs to my bowl, which is a key part of how I enjoy the dish. To my surprise, they said eggs were no longer offered. When I asked why, no one could provide a clear explanation.
Feeling disappointed, I still finished my meal and then politely asked to speak with the manager. A few minutes later, Alyssa, the manager on duty, stopped by. I inquired again about the eggs and shared that I’d be willing to pay extra if that was the issue. Unfortunately, her response was dismissive—simply repeating, “We don’t do that here,” and adding that some other locations, like Joplin and Tulsa, still offer them.
Her attitude came across as uninterested and unhelpful, which really left a bad impression. It wasn’t just the missing eggs—it was the lack of customer care that made the experience disappointing enough that I wouldn’t return to this location, and it made me think twice about visiting others.
If the reason behind the change is cost, then give customers the option to pay for it. Taking away a basic and expected ingredient without explanation or concern is not the way to retain loyal customers.

Okay, not bad. I have a few level-up suggestions, but overall they did fine on everything . HuHot has a great endless stir fry option for everyone, with lots of things to mix a dish with. Waitress and Management did well. Here are my suggestions.
HuHut could take a page from BDs Mongolian and do a few smart things to up their business to the next level. First, give us cups to put the sauce on so you can throw the sauce in after a minute ot two on the grill, man. Seriously. By the time it’s cooked, 90% of it has been cooked off. I need 5 servings of HuHot sauce to equal the flavor of one at BDs.
Second, oil the grill. Just a smidgen
It will cooke better.
Aa for this location, everything else was fine. And it’s attached to the Mall, but not in the Mall

If you like a buffet where you can pick everything that goes into your food this is a great place to try out. Good sauces, fresh ingredients and great tastes. The name of the restaurant says exactly what to expect. Place was clean, service was decent and nice atmosphere. Options for all.

Any time we come to Springfield we have to eat at HuHot! It’s always delicious, and if it’s not, it’s your own fault because you literally put whatever YOU want in a bowl and they cook it for you. It is all you can eat so you can eat however much you want, and try new recipes. You can create your own, or they have little recipe cards by the bowls so you can try popular recipes. The service is always great too

The store manager is the sweetest and always so helpful. I went in today and it was no different. Joey was great on the grill. I always love coming here. Our server was amazing as well. I’ve had him several times before. Jason is always so kind and cracks jokes. Never an empty drink. I will continue going back.!!

The food was sooooo *delicious*. We all definitely ate WAY TOO MUCH, but it was so dang good we didnt wanna stop hahaha. And, the part I loved the most … one of our friends has an onion allergy and her husband had a red meat allergy – they told the cooks that before they took their plates to cook their food and they SUPER cleaned the area on the cook top where their food was going to be cooked and then “blocked” it off to separate that space from the rest until after their food was done cooking. I absolutely loved that – allergies can be so dangerous and they really seemed to take precautions and do what they can to protect their customers
