Reviews
Fresh raw oysters, the calamari, or both are great starters with a generous selction of cocktials, wine, whiskey and beer. Our party ordered the Fresh Market fish. You have choices of how your seafood selection will be prepared. Blackend is a favorite.
We also incude extra sides such as the Brussel sprouts.
The beignets are a great ending to the New Orleans meal.
EXCELLENT food.
The service is fast with a friendly staff.
The atmosphere is cozy and dimly lit. The walls are covered with cool paintings and the decorate for the holidays.
Indoor and outdoor dining areas are available (depending on the weather).
You can also sit at the bar / counter.
I recommend this restaurant.
In my latest trip to have my favorite oyster po boy. I said please don’t add any salt, unfortunately it was a salt bomb, again. The bread was not fresh, instead flaky. This is now two times in a row.
The develed eggs were bland, lacking flavors you’d expect from a Cajun restaurant.
The jambalaya tasted really good, had good flavors. But again, way oversalted couldn’t be eaten. We couldn’t finish it.
I really felt bad hours after eating the food.
I recommend not eating here until they replace their chief.
I also ordered the char-grilled oysters, and the sauce was phenomenal rich, flavorful, and perfectly blended. The drinks were just as impressive. I had a lemon drop (with tequila instead of vodka), and my guest enjoyed an old-fashioned both made to perfection.
Hugo’s was well worth the drive, and I’ll definitely be back!
