A hidden gem that feels like a cozy corner of Europe; intimate, warm, unpretentious, yet effortlessly classy! The schnitzel, borscht and chocolate mousse were incredible. Denisa is the most welcoming and genuine hostess you could ask for. If you’re looking for authentic flavors of European cuisine (compliments to the chef!) and an elegant old world charm, this is THE PLACE. I can’t wait to try more dishes here!

Fantastic! If you are fortunate enough to spend time on lovely Longboat Key don’t miss Hugo II. Authentic, wonderfully curated European fare that’s owned and operated by a family that is warm, friendly and inviting. They clearly take a lot of pride in what they do. We had red wine sangria and lychee martini aperitifs (both were wonderful), then the mixed grilled appetizer as a starter. For entrees my wife had the shrimp grille and I had the German meatballs with gravy. Everything, I mean everything, was excellent.
The atmosphere is cozy, quaint and warm. Denisa was our server and she was fantastic. Her Dad, Thilo, also served and checked in on us frequently. Both were attentive, friendly and genuine as can be.
I only wish we lived here so we could visit more often!

Wow, what a wonderful restaurant on LBK. Cozy, great ambiance, awesome food. The schnitzel is authentic and tasty! The staff is also courteous, happy and helpful. We’ll be going back soon.

My wife and I were lucky enough to find Hugo 2 on our search for lunch adventure on vacation. Great Eastern European flavor with great service and hospitality. Highly recommend you stop in for lunch or dinner. Try the soup!!
