Made a reservation online for a table and easily was able to pick out wha piece I wanted to paint and get help from the staff. A lot of the ceramic pieces and glazes I wanted to use weren’t in stock, but I went on a random Tuesday, so I can’t complain.
Definitely would recommend this place for coffee and ceramics! I can’t wait to pick up my platter!
The staff member working (wish I caught her name!) was incredibly kind, attentive, and helpful. She somehow managed to take orders, make drinks, and guide us through picking out our pieces and colors, all with a smile and calm energy. It was impressive how much she multitasked during my short time there!
We had a good time, and I can’t wait to come back, especially to see how our pieces turn out! Highly recommend if you’re looking for a relaxing, creative activity with great coffee ☕
The staff and owner were very nice and accomodating. I will most definitely be coming back with more of my friends and family. It’s the perfect space to meet large groups of people for a party or event.
I liked that it had a very Zen feel to it. With plants and lights strewn up. Like you were transported to a far away place not New Jersey. This place is really worth your visit. I like how everything is fresh and homey. 5 stars all the way ♡♡♡
Unfortunately person behind the counter was definitely handcuffed by a rush, and with most of the meals needing prep and plating, it took a while to get our meals
Food was pretty good. Homemade muffins were the best thing though.
Probably would be a great time if you take advantage of the pottery painting here they offer.
Very cute inside but I had the displeasure of witnessing, who I believe was the owner, yelling at a customer after misplacing her ceramic item. The conversation escalated to this being an experience and paying for that experience, then somehow escalated to retirement and how the owner would be so lucky to retire. The customer, who was an elderly lady left after that without her ceramic. The atmosphere was incredibly tense after that at our table. We kept nervously joking to ourselves about not asking for more paint because the owner might blow up on us. You don’t act like that in a professional setting.
The owner (or whoever responded) seems to be missing the point of what I wrote. Nobody is asking for stale beans. And the other option is not just to stop ordering decaf beans forever. There are other solutions that are being ignored.
It is possible to get fresh decaf beans from lots of local roasters (Boonton Coffee co., Pour City, Paper Plane, just to name a few) and you wouldn’t need to wait a month to get them. It is possible to order smaller quantities to prevent your stock going stale before you use them. Other coffee shops in the area do this successfully. I bet you could, too.
It would have been nice to discuss those ideas with you, but you walked out the door mid-conversation. Your superfriendly barista did her absolute best to recommend other drinks, but I came for coffee and wasn’t interested, so I thanked her for her time and left quietly.
So yeah, you are a coffee shop but decaf drinkers like me can’t get coffee at your shop. And, quite possibly, we never will. It shouldn’t be surprising that the overall review is one-star.
But, if you look closer at my ratings, you’ll see that I also rated the service and atmosphere highly. That nuance deserves attention, too.
I sincerely hope you’ll consider what I wrote and try to serve the decaf population with some of the strategies or suppliers I mentioned. It can be done.
Original review follows.
This place looked nice, but they were out of decaf. The owner (I think) said they would get another shipment next month, but they’re considering getting rid of it completely because it doesn’t sell.
That’s pretty sad for decaf drinkers like me. I have been making my own decaf espresso at home for over a year now. I promise, decaf espresso can be every bit as delicious as regular coffee. I wish they would have put some love into it. I’m not the only decaf drinker.
