Social Profile:

Huey’s has been bringing Blues, Brews, & Burgers in Memphis since 1970. Perhaps the most unique characteristics of our locations are the graffiti walls, hometown feel and local live music. Our World Famous Huey burgers have been voted Best Burger in Memphis since 1984. Sundays at Huey’s are traditionally known for live music, including jazz, blues and even a little rock from local and regional groups. At the example of the late Thomas Boggs, Huey’s former owner, giving back to the community is one of our top priorities. We are proud to have donated many hours, monetary support and services for countless community organizations, schools, and nonprofits over the years.

Laid-back tavern for beer, pub grub & specialty hamburgers; open late, with live music.

Huey’s Southaven has that familiar laid back tavern feel. Think cold beer, pub style comfort food, specialty burgers, and a casual sports bar atmosphere. They are open late, advertise live music, and this location is one of ten, so clearly they have a loyal following.
I was seated in a high backed booth with chalkboard backs, which was a really cute and playful touch. The blues music playing in the background added a relaxed, Memphis style vibe that I genuinely enjoyed. By around 12:30 pm the place was filling up quickly, and it definitely felt like a popular hangout spot. Ladies, fair warning, it seemed to lean toward a big guy crowd that afternoon.

My server, Autumn, was friendly and attentive. I originally planned to order the famous Huey Burger with onion straws, but when I found out there was no cider on tap, I switched gears and went with the Chicken Tender Salad & water instead.
The salad came out generous and colorful. Fresh mixed greens topped with deep fried chicken tenders, mushrooms, scallions, bacon bits, and grated cheddar jack cheese. You can also get it Buffalo style if that is your thing. I ordered ranch on the side. The mushroom slices were especially nice, thick and plentiful, and the ratio of greens to toppings was spot on. About halfway through, I did find myself wishing there were a few more green onions, but overall the salad itself was fresh and satisfying.
Unfortunately, the chicken was heavily seasoned with black pepper. After one bite, it was just too overpowering for me to enjoy. When Autumn stopped by, I mentioned it and she was empathetic and offered to bring something else. I declined because I truly was craving a salad and everything else on the plate was good. I did not want it to go to waste.
I will admit I was a bit disappointed that the bill was not adjusted and there was no offer of a small dessert or gesture, especially since the chicken was left uneaten. That said, Autumn remained kind and professional throughout the visit.
I really did love the blues music, the cozy booth seating, and the relaxed atmosphere. Huey’s clearly has its crowd and its charm. For me personally, between the heavy black pepper seasoning and the lack of cider on tap, I probably will not be back. Still, I can see why many people enjoy this spot, especially if you love a lively sports bar vibe and bold flavors.

I used to eat here and it was okay. The reason I no longer eat here is because they have a bad attitude towards me personally while door dashing repeatedly. The Togo orders are at the bar where you literally have to be a nuisance and disturb patrons up close and personal because the owner doesn’t like door dashers. Etc please note that I am nice kind and polite as such and will never eat here again because of how they treat you like second class

The live band was super cool and inviting. The welcomer had a bubbly personality and seemed sweet. We ended up ordering a to-go order which they charge you for, 15% I believe. And although that was annoying I decided to still take a chance. I will say the cost of the food was not reflected in quality. The cheese fries I got were burnt, and hard. The fried pickles were a small amount and the cashier could not tell me the size of a portion. (How much does one serving feed? How are they portioned?) However, the small amount of fried pickles were really good, but the amount was just not a lot. The tater tots were hard and unseasoned. The only great part for me was the vegan burger they offer. It was amazing and I highly recommend it. After sharing my frustrations with the restaurant, Will (I believe) the manager did take care of the issues presented. Although the vibe of the restaurant was nice, it did not translate towards the To-go orders despite the price. I would recommend dining in instead and hopefully you’ll have a more enjoyable experience.

I can’t rave about this place enough. First off the staff is always SUPER FRIENDLY. They always make me feel like family whenever I get food there. As for the food itself? On point. The bone-in Buffalo wings has to be the best kept secret here because I have never had any wings quite like them! There’s so much I could recommend but my personal favorites are the wings, mozzarella sticks, shrimp basket, and the burgers. Great place to take friends, family, or go on a date. My ONLY gripe with Huey’s is the price but the sheer quality and portions makes up for it. ❤️

Had a good experience here, this is the best Huey’s location that we’ve tried. Service was great and the food was good. Good portions but it did take quite a long time, we didn’t mind because we weren’t in a hurry but it was enjoyable.

Our server was great! But the food wasn’t impressive, but our server was amazing and very well aware.
We had chicken pineapple kebob with chip, burger and fry with special sauce, and another burger and cheese sticks.

I would probably go Freddy’s when I pass thru next time if I need a burger, as Freddy’s is also closer to a 325 supercharger

Food was good. Band was horrible, it sounded like a cat giving birth! The piano player was decent the vocals were turned way up to drown out the noise, and that was horrible when you’re lead singer has to look up lyrics. MY GOD!
