Huey Magoo’s Grand Opening in Cornelia, GA
Reviews
Dinner prices: Nine (9) Piece Chicken Tenders and side –
Longhorn’s: $17.99
Huey Magoo’s: $31+ (three piece meal X3 @ $10.49 each).
DRIVE THRU. For $31 two sandwiches and a three piece meal. No drink. No napkins. No spoon/fork for the two tablespoons of coleslaw – suppose those cost more too as they were not included.
Panera Bread rates #1 (the best): two Chicken Bacon Rancher, two Cinnamon Crunch Bagels, one Brownie: all for $34.
Chick-fil-A #2: You know what the cost is here (actually lower). With their presence all over, no surprises.
Zaxby’s #3. Coupled with Bojangles and Popeyes.
Huey Magoo’s is tied with Kentucky Fried Chicken. But, that is only because of the soft bread. Otherwise, the chicken at KFC exceeds – it’s not competing with “who can put the most pepper and hot spices on everything.”
If you are in Toccoa, Georgia stop in at a local award winning restaurant called “Bell’s Drive-In.” Order it’s chicken. Sit down or window pick up. NUMBER ONE FOR LOCAL. You won’t be sorry.
I got the meal for two because it was 8 tenders and I was fairly hungry. It comes with two sides and instead of asking me which two sides I wanted the cashier just rang in a double order of fries. How lazy is that? I saw it on the receipt afterwards and I told another employee that I wanted coleslaw and chips, which I would have told the cashier if she had asked.
In addition I told the cashier I wanted garlic parmesan dipping sauce and barbecue dipping sauce. She told me I could only get the tenders sauced in one sauce. I looked at the register and she had rung up sauced tenders, which I did not want and of course were more expensive. If I had not wanted two separate dipping sauces, I would have gotten all eight tenders tossed in garlic parmesan sauce and paid more. Don’t assume you know what the customer wants. Double check with him or her. But I mean at the same time that’s a good way to cheat customers and up the store revenue without customers knowing it.
Taste wise it is somewhere between Zaxby’s and Bojangles as far as taste and spice. There is some sort of spicy seasoning on the fries and the coleslaw tasted weird too like there’s some sort of spice in there. Spicy coleslaw? Come on. The chicken tenders were decent but again leaning toward the spicy side. Even the garlic parmesan dipping sauce was kind of spicy. A second visit? No thank you, we will go two restaurants down and go to Zaxby’s next time.
This is a shame. I had heard such good things about Huey Magoo’s.
