We were so pleased with everything. The food was incredible and our waiter was friendly and helpful with menu recommendations. The food portions were huge and we left stuffed! We are excited to come back again and try everything!

Hueso Loco is definitely the place to go! I stopped in for lunch one day and the vibes were amazing. The garage door was wide open, music playing, and the whole atmosphere felt lively and welcoming. The staff were all super helpful and friendly. But the real highlight was the food—absolutely incredible. I’ll admit, this white boy can’t handle a lot of spice, but even so I really enjoyed both the food and the overall experience. I’d definitely recommend checking this place out!

I would give this place 50 stars if I could! Hubby and I happened in here on a date night. It was pretty busy so we sat at the bar. We were so entertained watching the lovely things prepared by the bartender, each one more creative than the last! Husband had birria tacos and the meat was sooooooo tender. I had chicken fajitas and they were amazing too. Guacamole was fresh and delicious. Everything superb. I told him our next year of date nights needs to be here for sure!!

I really wanted to like this place – and seeing rave reviews since opening, I came out with some friends to see the new spot on the block.
The pros: very nicely decorated, a good use of space in a tight building. The drink presentation is wonderful and reminiscent of a bigger city. My fiancé enjoyed the street corn, and the queso dip was tasty.
The cons: unfortunately the service did not live up to expectations. The young man serving us was nice, but not very knowledgeable on the menu – it was also surprising that a Mexican restaurant wouldn’t have a tequila list on hand, but when asked by two members of our party about drinks he did not seem confident, and one of our members had to go to the bar to look and see what his options were. The salsa trio is a cool concept, but the execution and portion size was disappointing for a “shared” plate.
The food quality seemed to heavily vary depending on the dish – the empanadas were inconsistently stuffed and came with the incorrect meat in them. The birria tacos had a great taste but were ultimately quite dry. Portion sizes seemed to vary with a degree arbitrarily.
If you want a nice ambiance to have a happy hour drink with some chips and queso, this is probably the spot for you. However, in a city with a plethora of long standing Mexican/Tex-mex inspired options, Hueso Loco misses the mark, and while the cocktails are pretty, the rest of the menu experience makes it difficult to justify a $15-18 price point.
I don’t think I’ll be returning.

The BTO Sizzling and empanadas and carnitas tacos were amazing. Great environment, the bartenders were super kind and attentive, and it was just a great experience! Can’t wait to come back!

I am from out of town and accidentally ended up here the second day that it has been open. The staff were super friendly, the birria tacos were delicious (with a bit of a kick), the cocktails were great and impressively presented. I may go tomorrow before I leave town.

Absolutely phenomenal experience at Hueso Loco! We tried the Texas Twinkies, Oaxaca Lava, and Carne Asada. While everything was delicious, the Oaxaca Lava was especially amazing. It was so good we forgot to take pictures until we were halfway done with it! The service was some of the most thorough & attentive I’ve had, and the atmosphere was wonderful! Definitely worth a visit!

Tried the new Hueso Loco downtown. The food was good, but the portion size was disappointing. It seemed like the fajitas in particular were very small compared to others in the area.
What really disappointed us was the 3% operating fee that was added to the bill without being listed on the menu.
On the plus side, the drinks are fun and creative. You can get cocktails served in things like a bathtub, pineapple, or even a purse, which is cool.
I’m pretty sure it’s owned by the same people as Papa Gallo (in the mall) and I’d choose to eat there instead because of both the better portion sizes and the fact that they don’t add a surprise fee. Would come back for the cool drinks though!

I rarely write reviews but I have to let everyone know I had the best food here I’ve had out of all the restaurants, alike in Lynchburg and the surrounding areas. My wife and I will be going here often, it’s amazing. The drinks are really cool too.

I was a fan of the old taco establishment here. So i was very excited to see it reopened as a taco spot. Ran here for lunch, tacos were big, flavorful, and fairly priced. Got to see a lot of the unique eye catching drinks come out. Everyone was very nice and attentive, and place was very clean.
Will be back!
