Very rustic and authentic inside, you have to look for it or you’ll probably drive by it. Very nice menu, full bar, good seafood. Service is slow but, you better have your drink selection made within two minutes of seating or you’ll wait another ten minutes… I really liked this place, lots of locals!

I am pleasantly surprised. We are traveling across country and saw this small mom and pop restaurants. We gave it a try. I had menudo. The best menudo I have had since I was a young girl in my early 20s. The place has all my childhood favorites my grandmother in Mexico used to make for me when I want to visit her on my summer vacations.

So we’re spending a few days in Indio. We’ve never been here before and didn’t know what to expect, especially didn’t know what to expect for food. The first place we tried was Huerta’s. It has good reviews so we gave it a shot. Didn’t look like much from the outside but you can’t judge a book by the cover as the saying goes. I ordered the carnitas plate and my wife got the shrimp enchiladas. My meal was good. The carnitas were cooked to perfection. Not too salty and not over cooked. I would rank it right up there with 5 puntos in East Los. My wife’s dish was very flavorful. I would say it was better than my dish. If you live in Indio or are visiting, try this place. I ordered the Desayuno Huertas and a coctel. The Desayuno was good potatoes needed a little more flavor now the coctel was not good it looked pale and did need more flavor. The reason I give it 3 stars is because the service was bad and the restrooms look like the gas station restrooms plus the women restroom was out of service.
