Our food took over 45 minutes to arrive, we saw 6 tables that arrived after us get their food before us. Our server said it was because they were cooking our burger fresh, then we were told that they ran out of burgers and had to get more. The food was good but there were some real hiccups with the service. The manager was very apologetic and gave us a 50 percent discount. If I was in the area I would give them another shot but we drove from Woodstock to eat here today and I wouldn’t make a special trip again.

Stopped here before heading to the nearby haunted house(s)… it was friggin awesome! And what the heck super affordable! My daughter had the pulled pork grilled cheese… 5 bucks and it was full of meat and cheese. I had a brisket grilled cheese and the “suicide dog” (chili, cheese, slaw, onions) and both were great. The hot dog was actually good quality, not all-beef but sizable and not a nasty Gwaltney dog. The hand-cut fries were great, the brunswick stew was aight (needs more sweetness and some veg in my opinion), and the Mac and cheese was Stouffer’s, but it was all very enjoyable and for four people it was like 70 bucks for a ton of food. Service was great, super friendly and prompt.

I love places like this. The restaurant is huge and has a super old school vibe. They have been here for over 50 years and they are serving the community with well-priced delicious barbeque. The world needs more Hickory Houses.

Delicious pulled pork and potato salad! Great service, friendly and attentive. Love the menu and clean open dining room. I personally welcome the new renovations. It was time for a face lift. So glad it re-opened! I will be back very soon and will try the burger- i have heard it was really good, I’m anxious to try it. My husband ordered the steak and it was a good cut. He just said it needed to be seasoned.

My husband was eating here 2-3 times a week before we married. We have been eating here for the 40+ years that we have been married. The food is always great.

Looking for country cooking, family-friendly atmosphere, and cheerful service (ask for Stacy!)? Then come to Hudson’s! The Pulled Pork Grilled Cheese was delicious. My kids enjoyed their hot dogs, cheeseburgers, chicken tenders and fries. Fried pickles is an excellent starter! Tea is sweet

*fyi we tipped half in cash*
i have ZERO complaints about this establishment. we were headed home from ATL and took a detour per google, i saw “BBQ” and knew to roll my window down because i love that smell. i joked to my partner we could stop and eat there and he said let’s do it. i’m not really a big BBQ eater but once in a blue moon i enjoy it.
THIS PLACE exceeded any and every expectation. the prices are amazing!!! the drinks are huge & came in to go cups but we sat at the bar so im not sure if they factors in. the waitress got to us fast, she was patient and sweet. menu is simple but i appreciate that. food came out quick but in a good way. taste was simple and PACKED with flavor. we had the brisket and pork sandwiches, both were tender AND had bark. all the sauces were delicious. fries were hand cut and amazing but did need salt which i also can appreciate because i get to choose how much i want. baked potato was absolutely LOADED down with bacon but i did request bacon. potato is also freaking HOT so beware the foil. this place was made in the 70s and looks every bit the part, seems like it’s not been touched but i enjoyed the little time travel. very ‘mom and pop’. 100000/10.
WILL be detouring back through whenever i’m near.

My daughter introduced me to this place. She fell in love with the hickory fries and every chance she gets she asks me to get her some Hudson’s. This is a very hearty meal but very good. There sauces and ranch dip make everything even better. You could dip anything into their ranch and love it. The fried okra were great and my husband loved the Scot”s junkyard dog. A hotdog with pulled pork on top of it. We have tried many things before but that was truly a first. There are plenty of things on the menus to try so there is something for everyone. We ordered our food to go and it did not take very long to get at all. Very fresh and tasted great. Give them a try.

Very friendly staff, my server Amanda was very helpful in assisting me with my order. They don’t offer a veterans discount. The BBQ was a 7 out of 10. The hot dog was perfect 10 out of 10. No way to eat these hot dogs without making a mess. I would definitely come back and give some other menu items a try. Very home kitchen atmosphere. Feels like mom was in the kitchen making something tasty.

Good low maintenance bbq place. Not fast joint really busy at lunch, if short on time do pick up over the phone.
The hickory fries were good, and the wings were great. Good size and hot sauce is a strong vinager type. The great drink approach is large and dont have to refill often.

Hudson’s Hickory House is a staple in Douglasville. Very complete menu. Lots of neat things to eat.

Being a BBQ place, I tried the ribs with potato salad and a jalapeño cornbread muffin. The ribs are very tough, and it’s really the only reason I can’t go with 5 stars. They have a great taste, and I like the sauces they have, but the ribs aren’t tender.

The potato salad was fantastic. Great taste, lots of mustard. Delicious. The cornbread muffin was delicious. Dunking in the sweet BBQ made it even better.

I also ordered a pulled pork grilled cheese sandwich with sweet pickles. This was really good. The pork seemed pretty bland on its own, but as a whole, I really liked it. Very unique. I should have ordered two of them.

The service was fast and friendly. And attentive. It’s going to be busy, on a Monday at 6:30pm it was very busy. Plenty of seating and very good service.

If I go again, I’ll just avoid the ribs. I absolutely enjoyed everything else.
