It was highly recommended but we waited 20 minutes to get a table because they were busy and couldn’t clean off the empty tables fast enough. When we ordered it took them 50 minutes to get us our food and each persons food came at different times. By the time my food showed up the other people at my table were already done eating. The portion size was lacking for the price I paid and you can see from the picture that the food was very greasy. Yes it tasted good but I’m sure it wasn’t very healthy. It was very dirty and the staff was slow and not very friendly. It’s really one of the few places to eat in post and right across from the hotel so I see why it gets busy but if you have a car, go someplace else or come when the place is dead. I tried that one other time but they said they were closing early because their cash register wasn’t working. I could have paid cash, but I guess they maybe wanted to close early or something. They are open later than most places on post so that’s why they got two stars.

It’s just okay. The service is just okay. You can tell that they have regulars, so they get the better service. Also, there is a sign outside the base that advertises meals for $5, but the waitresses say they know nothing about them. Other Huddle house have value menus on the table. Oh well, I probably won’t visit this location again.

Excellent service however whoever is running this joint needs to get it together. Cold eggs and bacon and the saddest fruit cup I’ve ever seen. The waitress looked embarrassed to serve it to me. Still tipped her well wasn’t her fault. Last time I got a wilted salad. My advice is stick to pancakes every thing else is kinda disappointing.

Long story is a short version. I had a night shift and I have to be up all night until the next day. So is a long night and I need something to eat. My plan was go to Burger King and buy a large hamburger combo but the plan changed because was late to make an order. I went to the drive thru and I was ready to order and then the speaker said, we are close and I said ohh Shi$$#. I just have an hour to eat and come back to work. So I Goggle restaurant near me and I found this place that said, will be close soon. So I went to the Huddle House before they close and I explained my situation. I said I m hungry I will be working for a long time until next day and this is my first time in this restaurant. I need your recommendations. The person that talked to me I. The counter was so friendly and very quick select my choices. So I order a big breakfast. She said that will be like 6 min to be ready. So I started eating I side the restaurant I ate first the eggs, breads, potatoes juice then I took the rest for to go. So my short story is that this place is the best choice for breakfast and also the service was excellent. I recommend this place. I will coming back soon

Food is decent, but the service isn’t consistent. The stuffed hashbrowns are really good. I’ve eaten here four times. Twice the service was great, one time my mom and I were ignored for 30 minutes before someone took our order, and the last time I never got a refill on my water and I had to get up and grab my own to-go tray because there were absolutely no employees inside of the restaurant.

This is one of the best places to eat around. They actually have an A- rating from the health department and a great wait staff. It’s weird that so much of my life at Fort Polk has revolved around this place. We know most of the people here by name and we love it!

I’ve only ever had a bad experience once, but I think that was just a bad day for the restaurant. Every other time the food is 100% how I want it. Their burgers are to die for. The omelettes are hearty. The Staff is wonderful. The Cooks are amazing. The atmosphere is like a modern 50’s dinner. I would eat here every day if it wouldn’t add to my waist line but that’s besides the point. Probably one of the best places around Fort Polk, Leesville area considering the minimal options available.

Food was hot but it was obvious the preparing the food took no pride in their work, presentation was sloppy. Chocolate chip pancakes look like someone put them.on after they were cooked. Hashbrowns weren’t browned. The strawberries in the fruit bowl looked old. On another note our server was excellent and she had a great attitude. There’s not many choices for breakfast out here so I guess they get away with whatever .

The food was ok at best. The staff was overworked and the hours are kind of awkward because its on Fort Polk. They used griddle grease like crazy. It flowed like glistening waves of Crisco like the ocean batters the shores of Hawaii. The staff was friendly which is a plus. The portions were large but the taste and flavor could be reproduced at home just as easy. 3 stars are for the staff and a broad menu selection and portion size only. The quality of the food is 2 Stars.
