Food looked good. I had a triple cheeseburger. I’d give it a 5 out of ten. It was kind of underseasoned and the meat tasted like it was a couple days old. Fries were good. My wife had a steak. The biscuit they gave her was hard. She said it was good. Service was okay.

We were there on 12/6 at 4 pm. Waitress was standing around talking, tables were mostly dirty, napkin holders were empty, jelly holder was empty. Our huddle bowl came out fairly quickly, was warm covered with warm gravy instead of hot. We didn’t complain, we just ate & left. Oh there was a hair on my plate I noticed when I finished eating

My wife and I had been to this location once before, meeting an old friend who lives in Dexter for lunch. That time, the meal was terrible. Food was either overcooked or cold. I had a burger and the hamburger tasted like it had been cooked the day before and warmed in the microwave. Lettuce was wilted and tomatoes on the burger were about ready for the garbage. My wife’s meal was no better. Fries were cold and soggy. Neither of us could fi fish the meal it was so bad. We’ll, that experience was about a year ago, so, we decided to try again, thinking that maybe the restaurant had an off day before. Nope! My wife and I both ordered the hamburger steak with brown gravy and mushrooms. It was awful. It was just a plain hamburger with flavorless gravy and I never did see a mushroom. I had the hash brown casserole which was a joke. It consisted of packaged hash browns with nothing else. It was soggy, cold, and tasteless. The “Hamburger steak tasted awful. As my second v side i had steamed mixed vegetables. There was maybe two slight tablespoons total. Also cold. My wife’s meal was the same. Our friend had scrambled eggs and sausage patties. Both overcooked so much they weren’t edible. We had to ask two or three times for stuff that should have been brought initially. They kept v forgetting us. You asked me to elaborate, so there it is. For the second time, it was a complete waste if money. We tried to give the benefit of the doubt and try a second time, but the only surprise was it was worse than. The first time. I would advise that travelers avoid this Huddle House. It’s a shame, because I’ve always loved eating at Huddle House….just not this one.

We walked in and we received dirty coffee cups. The waitress was dirty and had a dirty shirt. She wouldn’t refill the coffee cups for us. The salt shaker had rice in it to keep moisture out. If moisture is getting in, throw it away and get a new one. The waitress was complaining to other customers about wanting to quit her job. The whole time was a bad experience.

I understand people and places have bad days. This store in Dexter at 6:11 pm Sun 8/31/25. Was not busy but had to be the worst looking restaurant I’ve ever seen. The floor looked like it wasn’t swept in days. The staff was friendly but they weren’t even trying to clean. I didn’t see the whole store until we were paying and had I seen it we would have left.

I had breakfast at the Huddle House in Dexter, mo this morning. We were greeted immediately upon entering, found a table and our drink order was taken promptly. After a very only a few minutes our drinks arrived and our food order was taken. Again, in a very short time, our food arrived, just as we ordered it, hot and delicious. Our coffee cups never got below half full and every staff member that passed our table made eye contact. We never wanted for anything. The only place any staff member stopped moving was at the point where food came up and while waiting for food there every staff member was scanning the dining room. It was clear who was the manager, because he was truly managing this well oiled machine. Having worked in management/supervision for decades this was a very refreshing experience. Today its difficult to recognize most managers in restaurants because they’re working so hard on the floor taking care of customers because the quality of the employees that they manage is very low. It was clear that the management at this HH had put the effort into their staff up front and now only needed to oversee them, not carry their load. If you are, or plan to be in restaurant management, I would recommend eating at the Huddle House in Dexter, mo. Pay attention to what they pay attention to and imitate them. We have the better part of our last two generations entering the work force with very little going for them as far as work skills and ethics, and they’re not learning much at most all entry level jobs. Shame on parents and employers! The young people I watched work at HH this morning are head and shoulders above most and have much brighter futures than most their age. Thank you for a wonderful breakfast and for giving me hope for our younger generations.

Food was very good, really hit the spot. The staff could be more friendly, but I know that you never know what others are going through.

Normally a 5 star experience when we pass through.
This time they were battling sugar ants on the table. The back of the booths was grimy, as well as the floor wiping up black when I cleaned up after my kid. Just need to up their cleaning game.
On the flip side, great food and super friendly staff.

No refills on drinks the whole time we sat there, the menu is very deceiving, they’re was bardley any meat, onions or peppers on the philly cheese steak sandwich and the veggies were not grilled like it advertises. When i asked for more meat with our toast they declined. Ordered fried pickles, they brought 7 sliced pickles(hambuger dills) $5.99 for 7 slices? Really? Never going back!
