I should start by saying I’ve never really had Cajun food before, other than jambalaya from a box, so whether or not it’s “authentic” or “good” compared to other Cajun places, I’m no expert. That being said, it was amazing. My wife got the shrimp po boy with fruit instead of fries. I had the Monte Cristo. This sandwich is amazing. It’s ham, turkey, and melted cheese on, what i can only describe as French toast, with powdered sugar on top. I had to ask about the dipping sauce, it’s a Huckleberry sauce. It is for the sandwich. The portions are nice, we both stopped at half our meals. Of coarse, we had filled up on the fried okra. I’ve had fried okra before, but, until now, it was impossible to find here in Redding. Shawna was amazing, attentive, and friendly. We will be back, even if just for the fried okra.

My wife and I ate here for the first time and we decided to try and assortment of dishes, sticking mostly to what we’ve both come to recognize as southern comfort food and judge their plates based on how they stack up to what she was used to in Georgia. The green tomatoes were delicious and came with a house ranch—they were breaded evenly and had a good crust. We also decided to try the stuffed French toast banana foster, the Monte Cristo and the Breakfast Burrito. All but the burrito were delicious, as I feel that their house salsa for the burrito was too bright and one note, which threw off the flavor for me. Had they included a sour cream, I think it could have been better. However, the Monte Cristo was one of the best I’ve tasted and was a favorite of my wife’s. The toast had served like a sponge for the syrup they’d cooked it with and held in the perfect amount to make every bite glazed, but not too much that you’d have any spilling out as you’d go to take a bite.
The stuffed French toast was our dessert and it was fantastic. Both my wife and I had mentioned how the cinnamon and brown sugar sauce they’d covered the toast in, would have been good enough to pair with any pastry.
With all of this being said, both my wife and I agreed that the most lacking feature of this place, was the service. Now to clarify, everyone was perfectly hospitable and we had no issues with our orders. Though our complaint stems from how forced the accents and vernacular comes across. From overhearing a few conversations with other tables, we assumed the staff were instructed to sound southern. Not only that, but I think they’re also instructed to talk loudly, which when combined with everything else, makes interacting with staff uncomfortable because everything seems so fake and forced. We would much rather the staff be allowed to act more natural with customers, even though this may be a themed establishment. We will most certainly be back, but we may end up ordering food to go, as to avoid the performative and often embarrassing conversations that can be heard using southern slang inappropriately.

First time visit. We had high expectations for this place walking in.
First impressions were WOW…Louisiana vibes…big time. Our host was ok, could use some hospitality training in greeting incoming customers though.
Just so happen, the hostess was also our server. His personable skills is not on par with other servers ive dealt with in the past.
We ordered stuffed French toast, the cinnamon swirl French toast and some pancakes. They were all mediocre at best.
Heck, my “stuffed” French toast wasnt even stuffed. It was 2 pieces of bread put together with vanilla cream in the middle. Then drowned in canned strawberry sauce.
The pancakes were made from sweet cream. Reported as ok.
And the cinnamon French toast was also reported as ok. Nothing to write home about.
Overall experience was a good one. We liked the atmosphere & service. We will return for a lunch time to see how that is in the near future, and I then do a lunch review.
I recommend you at least try it for yourself. See if you like it or not.

Atmosphere has changed up from IHOP. Server is really good, food was not all that. 41 bucks for 2 people, overpriced for luke warm food. Ordered the Tom’s scramble and the gravy wasn’t even warm. The eggs were not cooked fresh. Wife had Benedict eggs and the vinegar odor was very strong. Improve the quality of the food, you price it on the higher side it should be much better. Could not even finish the coffee, too bad.

The food is good and the service is really on point. Both times we’ve gone they were packed, which says a lot. They were sold out of the fried green tomatoes (hoping to try them next time!), but we still had a fantastic experience. This place is a solid breakfast diner addition to Redding. However if you like traditional beignets I wouldn’t recommend.

Went in for the first time with the wife for breakfast. Was delicious. Food atmosphere and service all great. Our server Yendi was awesome and super friendly. She recommended the stacked chicken and waffles when I couldn’t decide. And she was right 10/10 delicious. We will be back.
Also the beignets were delicious. Come check it out.

Staff and service was nice and fine. I ordered the crepes and the “vanilla crème” tasted more like pudding mix and the crepes were thick not light and papery. I also ordered eggs and hashbrowns which were mediocre with hot sauce and ketchup added. Men’s bathroom was gross but my finance liked his French toast.
