It’s pretty dirty now, very quiet and no music except the kitchen jammin.. and the food was pretty but very bland except the topping.
I was pretty excited to come back but this experience was nothing like last time. They could definitely use a good deep clean throughout the entire place.. even if a place isn’t great food wise the environment can make it worth it.
I had The Riverboat omelet which comes with something called “country reds”. I couldn’t find an explanation on the menu. Basically, Country Reds are Redskin potatoes that appear to have been boiled and then baked along with red and green bell peppers and onions.
Interestingly, I didn’t detect any Cajun seasonings in my omelette or in the potatoes. I ordered a side of bacon which turned out to be two pretty small pieces for $4.99.
The server was fantastic but overworked. Essentially this one sweet girl had the entire restaurant and by my count seven tables while other employees did very little to help her that I could see. So things moved a little slow. Surely at least one of them could have walked around with a water pitcher and helped a little bit? But this was not the case.
If this place had one shaker of Cajun seasoning and at least one other helpful employee, it would really hit the mark. It’s definitely good and worth four stars.
The restaurant was freshly remodeled with a nice seating area that included tables and booths. Our server Jordan was exceptional and helpful, checking in on us just enough but not hovering at the table. She was top notch.
The food we ordered was delicious. Good southern comfort food that checked all the brunch boxes for our party. Noteworthy was the chicken fried steak, biscuits, French toast, and huckleberry muffin.
If you can get in without a long wait this is a great breakfast spot in South Reno.
We drove all the way from Cold Springs & I wanted good Southern cuisine & was recommended to come here. Plenty of choices, my catfish was fresh, the crab tasty, their caramel ice coffee good too. They are friendly large portions & I am on my way back on Monday . I was able to eat with my family & didn’t spend lots of cash. I’m coming back for more!
Our Server was just so friendly and made sure we were happy and satisfied
Not disappointed
By far best food I’ve had
And I will wait two hours again to eat there
The Beignets don’t even waste your time not enough powdered sugar for 1 and they look like overgrown hush puppies from Long John Silver’s.
Nothing like Louisiana food.
Server was nice and checked on us regularly I just didn’t know how to tell her that none of the food was good so I paid for it and left. Not going back. It’s really a shame I was so excited to have a louisiana-based joint here in town especially with beignets. Big let down.
