This review is focused on atmosphere. Though the food and menu are excellent as always. Nice choices for a yummy lunch. And if you want a pleasant dining experience, come here on Tuesdays (Toni’s day). The new waitress, Toni, makes the whole experience absolutely delightful from the moment you arrive. She stays on top of all of your needs. She happily gives in to your requests in a timely fashion. And she makes suggestions that you may not even have thought of. She makes you feel welcomed! She is good for the customer, which means she is good for the business! We will be back on Tuesdays! Thank you for hiring her and showing you do care about the customers!

Excellent service, prior to coming here we went to 2 other cafes today but decided Howell was best suited to our needs. The oatmeal was very good as claimed in the menu “the best oatmeal in Goshen”.
Cappuccino was good with a dash of cinnamon and hot as requested.
Omelette was excellent, the multigrain toast was not to crispy and suitably buttered. Good ambience and we highly recommend. Price is good for the breakfast.

Unfortunately, this isn’t the first time I’ve had to make a one-star review specifically about this place. Every time we order lunch here, they forget items. I understand people have off days and that it gets busy, but this happens consistently every time.
What I don’t understand is how, when someone is taking an order, they are writing everything down and confirming the entire order before hanging up, yet items are still forgotten. How does that make sense?
I spoke to the man who took my order, and all he could offer were excuses as to why things were missed. That’s unacceptable. When the food is ready, shouldn’t someone be checking to make sure all items are in the bag before it goes out?
We had someone else pick up our food, so we wouldn’t know what was missing because the person picking it up doesn’t know what was ordered. Do they not provide receipts? How are orders not being checked?
The man on the phone told me the items were never rung up, even though they were written down. That alone shows there’s something wrong with how they run their business, or they seriously lack customer service skills.
I’m beyond sick of ordering from this place because of this ongoing issue, and on top of that, the food is way overpriced.

Cute little cafe in the downtown area. Reasonably priced menu with plenty of diverse options, decent portions. Everyone loved the hashbrowns. Go early because it definitely gets packed in the sitting area. Would happily go back!

I used to love Howells, but over the years they have gone down hill. They cut corners on quality and still charge you the same price or more. One thing I’ve always loved there though, is the burgers. Obviously, they’ve decided to go the way of saving money because what I just bit into was disgusting. It’s like a cheap knock off of a frozen bubba burger. I’ve had better burgers at McDonald’s.
And that white thing on top of the burger was inside the meat and is hard as a rock. So, not grizzle. That’s when I stopped eating. I don’t think I’ll be going back. Yuck

DO NOT recommend getting any kind of gift card here!!!! Our staff ordered lunch from there and went to use a 200$ gift card. They REFUSED to accept it. Said it’s been too long. Meanwhile there is no expiration listed anywhere. How can you do that?!?! Never again DO NOT BUY FROM THEM. For them to refuse it is insane, and pretty sure that’s ILLEGAL! We are investigating further

This is an amazing place. First thing I noticed was the air conditioner! Then the BEAUTIFUL scenery and vibe. Very spacey and good for friends/couples. Theres plants all over, and lovely greenery where I sat with unique plants. Then I ordered, the young lady at the register was very kind and explained prices/info about the food very well. She was super quick and VERY kind. So were the rest of the employees.
One thing I do suggest is longer time for the breakfast/lunch to be open. Theres only around 4 hours for lunch, unsure how long for breakfast. Yet, overall, 10/10!

Ordered at the register and sat in the cage section. Ordered the cinnamon French toast and it was awful. It came out fully black, burnt. That is all you could taste. The entire Togo container was soaked in oil. I took 4 napkins to soak up the oil from the French toast itself.
It would never get this again. Not sure if I ordered the worst thing on the menu but it was awful and the taste of burnt food is still in my mouth.
