Let’s start by saying this place was recommended by a few other places because we were looking for a pet friendly restaurant.

I highly recommend Howards. Everyone in my party enjoyed the food and the atmosphere.

I got the Petite Filet 6oz and it was cooked just how I ordered it and tasted so wonderful.

The fries are phenomenal with perfect crunch and saltiness and the sautéed mushrooms were great!

My friend got the French dip and said it was the best one she’s had, and also recommended the fries.

The doggo menu had options and came with a water bowl. The dog seemed to enjoy it.

The service was excellent and refills prompt and often.

I don’t have a single complaint with anything here.

We were pleasantly surprised on our visit here! The fried mushrooms are by far the best I’ve had anywhere. We each got the fried catfish and one plate would have been more than enough to share between both of us. Soups and salad were also quite tasty and my Bloody Mary was nice as well. The atmosphere was clean, classic, and pleasing with our table having a nice view of the creek. The service was quick and polite with just the right amount of attention. The late hours are a huge plus as their posted closing time on the door is actually when they stop seating; online it said 10pm closing and the door said 9pm… after getting into town a little late on a Thursday, we arrived at around 8:30 and didn’t want to be “one of those” couples that comes right at closing time. They assured us that it was ok and it seemed genuine so decided to get a table and I’m glad we did! The biggest negative was parking… but this is an issue anywhere in a touristy town. We parked in the lot right next to the restaurant up the hill a bit in a spot pretty close to the lot entrance. It was a little pricey but we didn’t feel like driving around forever looking for a cheap spot.
All in all, we are very excited to return and try some of the other dishes like steak and such that have great reviews. (We were going to a steak house the next night so we decided to go with the catfish this time).

We wandered in on a frozen snowy night during our birthday bash trip and were not disappointed! Great drinks and amazing service. Our waitress made my bestie a specialty drink off the menu. Her voice was soothing like someone who reads audiobooks for a living! Amazing 🙂

We happened to discover that our waiter was Turkish. He was a charming young man.

Our food was delicious. My cocktail was quite good.

The only problem was the long wait. Other than that, the atmosphere, food, etc., were excellent. I recommend it.

Old school spot, that was recommended by locals who worked in Gatlinburg. The Fresh Grilled Trout was exactly what we were looking for. Simply cooked, great value, central location. The coleslaw and baked potato were perfect as well slaw wasn’t to sweet but fresh, potatoes loaded with all the Goodies. Besides the other guests sitting outside in 70⁰ weather with the heaters on next to us. It was a great lunch that we both enjoyed.

I expected some more from Howard’s based on the reviews. I hate to leave a 3 star, but I would recommend to try another Resturant.

The cocktails were decent, the smores old fashioned was a cool concept. However, the description read a table side burned marshmallow but it was instead done at the bar. Yeh, that’s nitpicky and would have been overlooked had it not been for the food.

I ordered the trout and a side of vegetables and mushroom caps. I found this food to be nearly inedible as it was doused in butter/oil. I could not eat the vegetables as they were drowned in lipids. I had to soak the oil off the filet with my napkin.

My wife orders a burger which was decent but not anymore than say a five guys.

Overall – the atmosphere is nice, next to the creek. I think the potential is there, and some more focus on the kitchen is needed.

We had a lovely experience at Howard’s Restaurant in Gatlinburg! The ambience is wonderful especially with the relaxing stream flowing right beside the seating area. We ordered the fried mushrooms and fried catfish, both of which were delicious and perfectly cooked. Chicken wings were delicious too. The food was great, and the service was friendly and attentive. A beautiful spot to unwind and enjoy a good meal in Gatlinburg.

I had the best chicken sandwich I ever had in MY life. It was ginormous. The waitress was a doll everyone was so nice the environment was amazing and vibes were just immaculate. Perfect thanksgiving trip and looking forward to going back. The jalapeño poppers were SO good too. The manager went out of his way to put the shade down before we even asked too very considerate. The bathroom could have been slightly cleaner but it wasn’t disgusting by any means. Mimosa was so good too and $3.50 a piece before 3pm!

I think there are a lot of overpriced mid restaurants in gatlinburg who take advantage of tourists. Howards i think is actaully worth the money and one of the better restaurants in downtown gatlinburg. The ambience/atmosphere was truly breathtaking. We saw a bear in the creek right next to us as we were eating our food. Server was great super personable and made the night better. The food wasnt AMAZING but wasnt bad. I got the pork chop and it was pretty average, but the mushrooms and carrot sides were rlly good and complimented the pork well. Neat American restaurant in Gatlinburg and would recommend for people in need of a casual american restaurant.

Very nice place to eat that’s right on the strip. The food prices are reasonable. Customer service was great. We had the best view in the restaurant. Looking out at a creek. My son said his burger was the best. Would eat there again.
