Howard’s Bar is a small town bar and grille with a menu that touts local beef and produce. After trying several spots in Stillwater, and getting disappointed, we finally found a spot with decent food. For starters the place was packed when we got there but got a table after waiting a few minutes. Might be tough to get a table around dinner time on the weekends. I got the smash burger which was excellent! Someone else got the prime rib sandwich which was even better. Would definitely go back for that. The fries were nice too and portions were good. I heard the cheese curds were great too but didn’t get the chance to try them. Heads up though the kitchen closes at 9:00 PM. Overall, if you’re in the area it’s worth grabbing some food here.

The wild rice soup, cheese curds and burgers are knock out quality. This has quickly became my fav spot downtown for lunch or a night cap. Highly recommend. We just love Howard’s!! The cheese curds are incredible, and the food and drinks never fail us. Service is kind and welcoming. The atmosphere is cool. This is a spot we’ll always go back to and really appreciate having in Stillwater 🙂

Checked this place out for dinner while we were staying in the area and both the food and the service were top notch! We had the trout dip for an app and both ordered the Philly sandwich! It was packed but there was a table leaving and the staff quickly turned it over for us ! Thanks guys !

Two of us stopped in for an early dinner during a road trip. Our burger and Reuben were delicious. The shoe string fries are made fresh on premises. Although it has a busy bar vibe, 25% of the dining area is up a few stairs and feels like a diner making inviting for families.

Happened upon this location walking through town. Did not know what to expect. Found the absolute best cheese curds I have ever had!!! The prime rib was incredibly tender (wish there was some sort of seasoning applied).

We had been to this place when it was called Whiteys several times, but this was our first visit since the change in ownership.
First thing I noticed was they kept the fresh squeezed juice… YAY!!!! I enjoy a variety of cocktails, but a screwdriver with fresh OJ is near the top of my list. So big thanks for that.
I was perusing the menu and it didn’t take long for me to notice the lasagna w/side salad. I am a lasagna hound and snob, and have tried it at many establishments over the years. This offering was outstanding, perhaps my favorite (not made by my wife, of course).
We will be back.
P. S. we used to boat on the river and visited Stillwater a lot, but not since COVID. Howard’s has been on our radar for a while. Hearing more about it at the Wits Reunion show at the Fitzgerald motivated us to get it done.
