Howard’s Bar is a small town bar and grille with a menu that touts local beef and produce. A cozy neon-lit atmosphere and warm staff mixes perfectly with the thoughtfully crafted menu that includes your classic burgers, wings, and nachos, alongside a smoked trout dip and Pork Schnitzel, all from Chef Adam To. Stop in and maybe you’ll spot Howard. The 80 pound pooch vacuuming up every last hand-cut French fry off of the floor. It’s his bar after all.

What a catch! Howard’s was the perfect destination for our adventure out to Stillwater. I wasn’t a fan of Howard’s under the previous ownership, but a lot has changed since then. I’ve had the meatloaf and the Mac and cheese meals and they’re amazing. They put tiny bacon bits on the meatloaf, it’s to die for, very comforting food. The servers are always fun too, it’s a relaxed place.

Nice enough bar, came in for lunch the other day. Friendly, albeit delayed first contact. Unfortunately, after 10 minutes or so, my eyes and ears spied the bar tender chumming it up with possibly her friends at a table for at least 4-5 minutes. Lunch time for the working crowd is time limited so I walked. Never had my order taken. The ice water was good and the menu I looked at looked yummy. I had hoped to order the Walleye Fish sandwich. ill be back to test the waters, I think they will be good.
