Decided to stop by on Saturday, shortly after they opened. I parked at a closed office building on Darwin to avoid having to pull in and out on Marconi. I received my fish, fries, gumbo and drink. Then I ordered greens and peach cobbler. The fish is seasoned well and flaky, greens are yummy and the gumbo is very good! Peach Cobbler could have more in the container because it is quite tasty…I will be back!

Gumbo – hearty, flavorful, and packed with two prawns and sausage links. The broth was rich and full of that classic Cajun spice
Catfish & Fries – crispy on the outside and tender inside. Simple, satisfying, and fried just right.
Don’t be fooled by the truck or its location, it is worth the visit!

Had the gumbo super flavorful. Not too spicy but has a nice kick. Banana puddle was wonderful. Wish has more banana pudding in it but overall great dessert, it wasn’t too sweet. Cornbread was nice and moist. Mac and cheese was off the hook! Definitely would get more on my next run. Potato was lovely also! (Wasn’t able to get a pic of my meal . Ate it so quick didn’t even thing of taking a pic of it lol)

Wonderful people. Friendly and home style feel. Area to pick up is a bit tight but as long as you wait you can get your food/enjoy it. Gumbo was a bit salty for my taste but catfish and fries were good except a bit too much salt on fries.

Been a few times and usually very good but the last time I went I ordered a 20.00 bowl of red beans and rice and was told by someone working there they were out but then being told by the other worker they had more i received a bowl of rice with what was left over and wouldn’t fit in the small bowl they offer. I didnt open my food until i got home so guess that’smy fault. After telling whoever operates their IG page I was told sorry and that’s it. Not going back for that

Saw them featured on Good Day Sacramento and decided to give them a try. Rolled up and ordered a $5 bowl of gumbo and a $5 side of catfish. As my order was swiftly handed to me, she whispered, “I will see you soon.” Oh lawd, can’t wait to go back. Howard Gumbo fully satiated me for $10. Come and get it! Note: it’s a food truck on a small lot with about two parking spaces. Get your food and keep it moving.

Never tried gumbo before, they have a 5$ bowl. I was suspicious because of the low price, but its so worth it. DEFINITELY recommend trying it out if you pass by. Multiple pieces of sausage and whole shrimp for only $5?! You gotta try it!!

Some of THE BEST Gumbo in Sac! Worth a trip if you are coming from outside the city. Don’t sleep on the Catfish either! Seasoned to perfect crispy and delicious! We are destined to be lifetime customers for sure! We are HOOKED!

So it got gumbo with shrimp and sausage, a piece of fish fried in cornmeal, fries and a soda. Everything tasted really good. They have a sign on the gate that says gumbo $5. Definitely not going to find that anywhere. Everything was seasoned well. I received a 16oz container of gumbo. Service was great and there was a short wait. They are also on the too good to go app and you get a good amount of food for the cost. I do believe you can pay extra for crab gumbo.
