I had always gone to How May for years and everything was fine. However, within the last week I ordered the usual items, and I was very disappointed. The ten-ingredient soup had barely 6 ingredients and two tiny pieces of pork. The shrimp fried rice had a few pieces of shrimp. The bags of good noodles which comes with the soup was replaced by two small bags of tiny bland noodles. The other dishes were skimpy and not worth the price.

I have visited some very good Chinese food restaurants but this How May Kitchen restaurant is all of very poor quality, the food is acceptable and with terrible service, they are so cheap that they don’t have heating and inside the restaurant the temperatures are so cold that if you don’t eat quickly you will It makes your food cold and doesn’t let you use the bathroom. I don’t recommend this restaurant at all, unless it’s takeout.

Been sick with a bad cold, ordered 1 qt. Of wonton soup with added bock choy charged me $3 extra aand was nothing but some shredded cabbage. Like you can’t tell the diffetence. Not using anymore.

This is our go-to for Chinese food on the island. We used to live in the city and this is the closest we’ve gotten to finding similar food. Great service and great food. We have never had an issue with the food over the years. Lunch specials are a steal honestly, as there aren’t many places you can get a full meal (or two honestly) for $7.25.

I came here a few times because I work just like 3 minutes away. I love Chinese food, it’s one of my favorite comfort foods. That being said I’ve tried a bunch of different places and this place is alright, the food isn’t too great I find it to be a little bland, the one thing I would say I enjoyed fully were the fried baby shrimp. Other than that nothing too crazy. It’s a quick bite if you need but honestly nothing I could rave about.

Ordered from here seeing that there were many great reviews and ratings. However, very bad experience. Ordered from a delivery service, got our food and were very surprised at the amount of food we got for so cheap! The restaurant messed up our order. Forgot to give us an item or two. Started to eat, very very very bland. Chicken was flavorless and tough. Pork was flavorless. Even the sauces they provided weren’t all that great. We ended up throwing away most of the food because we disliked it that much. Very sad situation and won’t be eating there again!!

Perhaps Paula Trapasso can explain to us all how she’s been going to this restaurant for “50 years” when they opened in the mid 90’s? Sounds like a disgruntled ex-employee to me. Either way, her “review” is a load of BS.
Anyway. Food is awesome, cooked fast and fresh, prices are right. Place is clean, decent sized dining area. Staff is friendly & courteous. Not really much more you can ask for from a take out Chinese food place. There’s a ton of Chinese places around this area, but go out of your way for this place. It’s worth it. I highly recommend it.
