This place is the real deal. My second trip here and I come to the area a few times a year for work. This will be a place I visit each time! They are so polite and helpful when you don’t know what to get. The food is wonderful!

Hovan is hands down one of my favorite lunch spots in Atlanta. It never disappoints. Somehow they make a basic Greek salad stand out—I can’t explain it, but they do. The cauliflower is simple yet incredible. And their beef/lamb shawarma? That’s my go-to. It’s hard to order anything else.
What I love most is that it feels healthy without sacrificing flavor. Nothing deep-fried or greasy. just real, quality food done right.
The owner is the heart of the place. It’s rare to find spots where the adorable, grandpa like welcoming owner is still everyone’s favorite, but he is. Warm, always smiling, putting a little extra love into each plate. You can tell he genuinely cares about every customer who walks through the door.
10/10, easily one of the best lunch spots in the city. If I don’t have a specific craving, Hovan is my default.

I rarely leave negative reviews, but Hoban Mediterranean Gourmet in Sandy Springs genuinely earned this one. The food quality was surprisingly poor, especially considering how expensive everything is. What made it worse is the portion size? the quantity is shockingly small for the price they charge.
To be fair, the service itself was good. The staff were polite and attentive. Unfortunately, good service can’t make up for tiny portions and subpar food. For the price point, I expected far better. Definitely not worth it. I won’t be returning and I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone looking for value or quality.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at hovan Restaurant, and I must say it was an exceptional experience. From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere was warm and inviting, with a perfect blend of traditional Arabic decor and modern elegance.
The service was absolutely top-notch. A special mention goes to( bishoy ), a very respectful and professional gentleman who took care of us throughout the meal. He was attentive without being intrusive, ensuring our needs were met and making great recommendations from the menu.
The food was outstanding — everything from the appetizers to the main dishes was bursting with flavor. The hummus was creamy, the shawarma tender and perfectly spiced, and the baklava was the perfect sweet ending to a truly memorable meal.

Very affordable and tasty food! I got the chicken shawarma sandwich and it was good but a bit dry, so next time I would ask for extra sauce. The chicken was really good though, and the sandwich was quite large. Service was super fast and the inside of the restaurant was nicely decorated. Overall great value and I will definitely go back and try some sides next time!

Their food is extremely flavorful and way more authentic then a lot of the other Mediterranean fast casual places. The owner actually came out and spoke to us briefly which was awesome. He didn’t linger, he just came out and checked on us and let us get back to eating. Their salad, sides, and hummus were amazing. I would definitely eat there again. Their picture menu on the wall looks bland, but when you get your actual food it’s flavorful and vibrant! Pleasant quiet atmosphere for lunch.

First time visit to Hovan (2148 Johnson Ferry Rd NE). It’s a smallish Mediterranean restaurant squeezed into the small strip mall next to Walgreens. Tasty food, nice variety of side dishes, and good portions. Fairly priced. I had a sandwich and 2 sides for just under $17, see picture below.
But what impressed me most was the older man with white beard and greek fisherman’s cap working the counter. Just ahead of me in line was a group of 4 Spanish speaking patrons. First timers like me. This gentleman was kind, patient and respectful while taking their order, explaining the menu and different side dishes. Should be a common everyday occurrence, but sadly these days one can never tell what might happen in such situations. He seemed to be the patriarch or owner. If so, not only is he a good businessman, the place was bustling, but more importantly a good human being. I’ll be back! #Hovan #mediterraneanfood #chamblee #brookhaven

This is by far the BEST Mediterranean restaurants in the Brookhaven area! Amazing customer service from Trey explaining everything to us and providing a 5-star dining experience! Everything is made fresh and has the home-made (not from a box) amazing taste!
