I want to be clear that our initial server was wonderful and very kind. However, the experience changed completely due to the actions of a different staff member:
• Inappropriate Conduct: While we were still waiting for the coffee we had ordered minutes prior, a different young woman (not our original server) walked up and dropped a bill on our table without saying a single word. No greeting, no “thank you,” and no explanation.
• Significant Error: To make matters worse, the bill she left was not even ours. It is already poor etiquette to bring the check before the coffee arrives, but to drop someone else’s bill without even a glance is unacceptable.
• Lack of Disposition: Earlier, we had tried to catch this same employee’s attention to help clear some empty plates as she passed by our table, but she didn’t even bother to look our way or acknowledge us.
As frequent customers who always leave a generous tip and appreciate the quality of this establishment, we felt treated with indifference, as if we were being rushed out or as if our presence was an inconvenience. We believe that at a restaurant of this caliber, the service should be professional from start to finish.
We hope management takes this feedback seriously to ensure that the hard work of your kind servers isn’t overshadowed by the discourteous behavior of others.
Had a lunch meeting with my financial advisor.
I tried the SASHIMI TUNA SALAD, pan-seared ahi, mango, avocado, mixed greens, cilantro ginger vinaigrette but I got the tuna raw, very good.
My friend chose the RUBY RED TROUT, lightly seasoned and hardwood grilled, served with coleslaw. That day, they substituted artic char for the trout. he enjoyed it.
Congratulations and keep the good work
For more than 15 years, I have used Houston’s as a preferred location for professional business lunches and meetings. The restaurant has always provided a dependable setting with a professional atmosphere, which is why we remained loyal despite having many other dining options in the area.
During our most recent visit, we had completed lunch and remained at the table for approximately 30 minutes while having coffee and finalizing a significant business transaction. At that point, a manager approached us and asked us to leave so the table could be reassigned, offering a drink “to go” as a substitute.
This interaction was unexpected, inappropriate, and frankly embarrassing, particularly in front of clients while we were concluding an important business deal. Houston’s has always positioned itself as an establishment suitable for professional meetings, which makes this experience especially disappointing.
Long-term customers expect professional courtesy and respect, particularly when conducting business. Being asked to leave shortly after completing a meal — while still engaged in a professional discussion — does not reflect the level of hospitality Houston’s has historically provided.
After more than a decade of loyalty, this experience has caused us to reconsider using Houston’s as a regular meeting location, especially given the number of excellent alternatives nearby.
I hope management reviews this situation carefully, as Houston’s has long been a restaurant we respected and confidently recommended for business meetings.

A great dining experience!
I ordered a Woodford Old Fashioned which was pretty weak. I’ve had way better at the cigar lounge right down the street.
I ordered The Hawaiian with a loaded baked potato which was delicious but for the service I received, the below average old fashioned and lack of care towards me as a guests, not worth a revisit.
The bartenders enjoyed talking more amongst each other about their personal life rather than making sure my food and drinks were good. This experience is the reason why I’d rather save my money and not go out to eat. Especially when I can go to a much better restaurant that offers better food and drinks at a much lower price with exceptional service.
Reservation is a MUST!!!
Our table was enjoying what had been a great meal. We ordered cocktails, appetizers, entrees, dessert, coffee, and tea — the full dining experience!!! The service staff was excellent and attentive, and the restaurant was not busy since it was in between lunch and dinner.
Then the manager, BEN, came to our table and delivered the most distasteful and appalling communication I’ve ever experienced in a restaurant. He bluntly informed us that “their dining experience is 1.5 hours and so we had to leave.” No courtesy! No professionalism! No awareness of how inappropriate that was, especially given that we were actively dining and spending money!!!
What a way for BEN to completely ruin what was otherwise a great experience. It felt rushed, disrespectful, and frankly insulting as paying guests. HOUSTON’S SHOULD BE EMBARRASSED that this is how management speaks to customers. NOT ONLY DID BEN DO THIS TO OUR TABLE, BUT ANOTHER TABLE AS WELL.
Great food. Great service from the staff. Horrible management.
I will NEVER go there again.
