The meal came with fries that were very good, light and crisp on the outside without being soggy. The checkout gal was friendly and knowledgeable, even offering her thoughts on the different spice levels, which I took and was glad I did.
We went for early lunch so the restaurant had just opened. The tables were very clean and orderly. Even the men’s bathroom was spotless, which is always a good sign. Overall, a great experience and I’ll be back.
This store abide by the 80% role. The mac & cheese and coleslaw were filled 80% and the meat on the sandwich covered 80% of the sandwich. Half of the chicken was flat and dry. The other half was semi dry but because of the thickness of it it was not too dry, but I would not call it moist.
The flavor of the mac & cheese was a 7/ 10, no southern woman would be proud to call that hers. The coleslaw was good 8/ 10. The sandwich was a 5/10 very disappointed, I drove out out of my way and was really looking forward to some good chicken and mac & cheese. It was so disappointing. I considered stopping to get a taco at Taco Bell, that tells you how bad it was.
Be aware, when they say spicy, they mean it. I love spicy food so I jumped right in and ordered the spicy level. My whole face was sweating by the end of the meal! Be careful if you’re not one that handles spicy food well. The top level of spice requires a waiver because the staff told me that it’s actually sent people to the hospital, so tread carefully.
Overall, I enjoyed the experience and will likely be a repeat customer.
Walking in, the lobby and dining area was immaculate! Clean, tidy and the smell of delicious chicken filled the air. Ordered a couple tenders and went to sit outside because the weather was perfect. The have ample seating inside, inside and they even have a small bar to order drinks and watch sports. The food was brought to my table and they asked if there was anything else they could do for me. They went to get some ranch and they were very friendly. The tenders were fantastic quality and flavor and I didn’t expect to enjoy the fries, but they were fantastic.
I will 100% be going back…. I’m actually excited to try something different.
I recently had throat surgery so I can’t eat like I used to for about another month , but I’m getting better now at eating most regular food. I usually get the Medium Heat Chicken Sandwich and a Hot Tender with Fries , but this time I had to just get a Mild Chicken Sandwich and Fries and a Frozen Lemonade. I like the original one better than the hybrid ones and I’ve tried all of them. I have to say I was underwhelmed by the Mild , but I knew it wouldn’t be the same as I am accustomed to having a more spicy chicken sandwich , but I can’t do spicy again just yet. So , I will just have to wait another month or so to get back to eating what I really like.
The young lady that took my order was very nice with a great smile and the lady that brought my food to the table was nice too. The place was clean as every Houston’s locations I have been to. I like that they have the outside dining area also with tree cover for shade. It’s a nice touch. When I was leaving a gentleman asked me how everything was and I told him about my situation , but everything was fine. I ate most of my sandwich and half my fires since I’m still working on my throat issues and not used to eating much at this time. I’m looking forward to coming back and getting my Medium Hot Chicken Sandwich and one of those Boozy Milkshakes probably in about 2 months when I’m better.
Also I’ve had Dave’s Chicken about 2 months ago and Houston’s blows Dave’s away !
