My buddies and I recently visited and shared several dishes, including the cumin lamb and the jumping fish, Sichuan dry fried chicken.. and all were outstanding. The cumin lamb was perfectly seasoned, tender, and packed with that signature smoky spice profile, while the jumping fish brought the classic numbing heat and complex flavors that Sichuan lovers crave. You can immediately tell the kitchen prioritizes authenticity and consistency—two things that keep us coming back.
The restaurant has built a strong reputation for delivering traditional flavors without compromise, and after multiple visits, I can confidently say the taste remains reliably excellent. If you enjoy real Sichuan cooking with depth, spice, and character, House of Three Gorges should absolutely be on your list.
We loved the Mongolian beef (melts in your mouth!) and the dry sautéed green beans. My boyfriend also really enjoyed the dry pot pork intestines (not my thing, but good!) and the stir fry shredded potato (a little too potato-crunchy for me).
The Jumping Fish ($18.50) came in a flavorful broth with plenty of fish pieces. The fish was perfectly cooked and delicately spiced — it literally melted in my mouth.
The Cumin Beef ($18.50) had a very interesting preparation; the beef was incredibly soft, moist, and buttery, not chewy or dry at all. Personally, I’m not a big fan of cumin beef as a dish, but the execution was excellent.
The Sichuan Dry Stir-Fried Chicken ($15.99) was my favorite — deep-fried with the perfect crunch. Even after the drive home, it stayed crispy on the outside and juicy inside, never soggy.
My only downside was the spice level — even regular or medium was extremely spicy, with the cumin beef really burning my tongue. I’d strongly recommend ordering mild or least spicy if you want to fully enjoy the flavors. Every dish came with rice.
We ordered the General Tso Chicken, jumping fish, green beans and wonton soup. They were all delicious and amazing. Entrees range $15-$20 but they give good portion sizes so it’s worth it
Loved this place and specially the Sichuan dry stir-fry chicken. IT WAS SO CRUNCHY! The spice was perfect. I can’t wait to go and try it again.
The cumin beef, on the other hand, did not live up to the expectations. There was too much cumin in it. The smell of cumin was too overpowering and I really think it is an overhyped dish at this place.
I will definitely be back and try the hot pot and other things, just not cumin beef.
Highly recommend the jumping fish.
Service was fast, but at least when we went while it was pretty busy, wasn’t the friendliest.
Atmosphere was just fine, but you don’t go here for the atmosphere anyway.
Will definitely be back for either another dine-in experience or for takeout…so good!
Tried the Fresh Pepper Jumping Fish, which was tender and packed with bold, peppery heat which was definitely a standout.
The Cumin Lamb was fragrant with just the right amount of spice, while the Mala Chicken brought that addictive numbing kick without overwhelming the palate.
The Beef with Green Onion was comforting, juicy and well balanced. I love beef!
The Fish Fillet Hotpot came bubbling and aromatic, loaded with flavor. Fried rice was simple but a nice base to balance the mains. A great spot if you’re into spicy Sichuan flavors!
