This is our favorite restaurant in Boise! All of the staff are fantastic and the food is amazing every single time. Chef Kevin is so passionate about everything he does and he is always seeking out local ingredients for every dish. The vibe is amazing it always feels so cozy and warm. We will continue to go back again and again. We love HLP <3

Visited House of the Little Pig a few days ago and was genuinely impressed. The restaurant’s interior is beautiful—warm lighting, thoughtful decor, and big windows that let in plenty of light. We opted to sit out on the patio, which overlooks a lush greenbelt and pond; the view made our evening feel extra special.

We ordered a handful of dishes to share, and everything was well seasoned and flavorful. The family-style setup is fun, but I will say the portions are on the smaller side. For three people, Riley (our fantastic server) recommended 5 to 8 plates, which was spot on for a satisfying meal. Riley was friendly, knowledgeable, and kept things running smoothly all night.

The whole place was spotless, including the bathrooms, and the vibe was relaxed yet lively. It’s the kind of spot where you want to linger a little longer, especially if you can snag a patio table. Overall, a top-notch experience—would absolutely return, just keep in mind you’ll want to order a few extra dishes if you’re hungry!

The design and decorations here are well done from outside to inside. The aged meat display and open kitchen design make for an elegant but familiar setting. We appreciated the quiet atmosphere for conversation. We had a large group so the service was also plentiful and they did well to attend to us. There are a couple of opportunities for improvement. While there is a shareable vibe here and a promise of large portions was made, the plates aren’t realistically big enough for sharing beyond 2 people. The food was nicely presented and mostly good but we experienced some overly salty, too dry, or not cooked to order. Lastly, the orders came out far too spaced apart to enjoy the items together.

Fabulous food!! The waiter recommended that we do family style and this certainly was the way to do it! The beans were a huge hit amongst everyone, as was the lamb neck, the steak, and the desserts. Everything was truly so exquisite and delicious that we wished the portions were a little bigger. Service was also superb!

The BEST restaurant in Boise.

The Dry aged tbone steak was out of this world, but the restaurant also has porterhouse and new york cuts available. I got to pick the exact cut of steak I wanted to have that evening because they have this beautiful cabinet/fridge where their steaks are resting.

Service is incredible – the staff will take care of you, and the atmosphere is very peaceful and calming.

We were sat at a table by the kitchen and it was SO cool seeing/smelling everything that was prepared.

11/10 so excited to come back and try more of the menu

This was my second visit, and it was just as wonderful as the first. The food was delicious, the drinks were excellent, and I will definitely visit again. I especially enjoyed the endive salad, the crudo, the broccoli dish, and the lamb pasta—every dish was flavorful and perfectly prepared.

The service was very accommodating and friendly, which made the dining experience even more enjoyable. Overall, it was a fantastic meal, and I’m already looking forward to coming back. This was my second visit, and it was just as wonderful as the first. Wow. I mean wow. Food like this place is few and far between. Especially in boise. Too often we’re faced with boring meals and plates we’ve seen thousands of times. Both dishes I had were unique and rich with flavor. I’ll be dreaming about the lamb neck until next time.

Good food with some great combinations. The lamb skewer was tender and well-seasoned, and the fingerling potatoes were also very good, those were the highlights of the meal

However, we ordered the carbonara, and the overall meal was too salty. We raised it up but no response from kitchen about that. After reading other reviews, it seems this is mentioned quite often. The service also felt lacking. It took quite a long time for ordering, appetizer, and main dishes. We waited about 15 minutes for the dessert menu after finishing our mains and ended up skipping dessert.

Great thought for the dishes, if the seasoning is more balanced the experience could be more enjoyable.
