Let me start before I tear this place down with the fact that our waiter was super nice… but thats the only star this place gets. 0 stars without him. The best thing on the table was the water!!!! Terrible wings advertised as smoked when they really didnt taste like anything and were damn near jerky dry. Two leathery burgers that were ordered medium well. 3 buffalo chicken sandwiches each with what looked like a tender covering half the buns. And a chicken wrap that only had chicken in half or the wrap. The waiter was nice enough to remove that when he saw it. Absolutely nothing ordered with bacon had bacon. Beach sand for cornbread and the soggiest greasiest fries Ive ever gotten period. Of course this is where my daughter wanted to go for her 13th bday and almost $250 dollars later everyone was disappointed and she didnt even eat her food. She left her plate behind almost untouched. So being her bday I didnt make a scene or make a complaint or anything. I ate the cost and left for than pissed off. Now comes the after effects of everyones stomach’s and the fight for the bathroom over the rest of the weekend. I really wish they didnt have my money. Ill be making it up to her with a real meal made by me. And it was dead in there so no excuses can be made.

Always wanted to try this place and finally decided to give it a go.
Wed afternoon wasn’t busy so we got seated right away. We got a nice waitress and she took our drink order and brought it out right away.
I had a chicken sandwich which I thought was pretty good. I would try it again. The fries were prob frozen from a bag. They were ok.
My girlfriend tried a brisket sandwich and she said is was very dry. Good thing they have BBQ sauce on the table cause she had to use it.
I ended up paying like $55 both us both which I thought wasn’t a waste of money.
I did want to go back and try ribs and brisket but the reviews are not good. I would hate to spend a lot and get bad food.

We stopped by House of ‘Que at the American Dream Mall and went with the Pitmaster’s Pick, expecting a solid BBQ feast. Unfortunately, the food didn’t deliver. The brisket was dry, the chicken was bland, the ribs were tough and chewy, and even the sausage was dry. The sides tasted like they came straight out of the freezer—not what you’d expect from a BBQ joint. The staff was friendly and attentive, which we appreciated, but sadly, it wasn’t enough to make up for the disappointing food. We left feeling pretty let down.

I cannot recommend this place. It was not good all around. Now our server she was sweet as pie and did a phenomenal job. However the food was terrible. There’s no other way to put it. The only thing that was just okay was the brisket and ribs which still needed to be dipped in bbq sauce for flavor. Deviled eggs way too much mustard. Mac n cheese weird consistency and had like carrots and jalapeno in it. The greens flavor was lacking big time too much vinegar used. The beans were not good the consistency was too watery and they were supposed to be bbq baked beans and had little to no flavor. Hell bush baked beans in the can taste better than these. The sweet potato were edible nothing special could have used some butter and cinnamon. The chicken was dry and flavorless. The sausages were okay. I saw a lot of people ordering appetizers so maybe that’s their strong suit. If i ever go back I’d only order appetizers.

Very very disappointed.
I lived in Austin for 20years.
So, i do believe i know what good barbecue is.
1. The brisket is little dry… it should be moist like juicy moist
2. They should serve bread does not matter if it is sirvharge or not…but theybshould serve it.
3. Each brisket is thick and theybwere way too long cut.
4, they added fat to $ per lb. (Never seen this in Austin).
5. Sausage was dry as well.

Only good thing about this is their atmosphere of restaurant.
If you are from south like me… avoid here at all cost.

Food was good and for the most part affordable for what it was. Everything came out quick and hot. Drinks from the bar were AMAZING.

The menu was deceiving and limited which you wouldn’t know unless you looked at the menu ahead of time. You have to scan a QR code which I really detest. The staff are wearing shirts with different sections of the cow, but only offer burgers, brisket, and chicken really. No steaks!

It was cool inside. The seats were uncomfortable. Unless you have a very skinny, narrow backside – you have to basically sit in the middle to edge of the seat, you won’t make it all the way back. It looked like all the chairs were this way.

One of the closest to Texan BBQ spots I’ve found in the area. I just love love the brisket here and smoked sausage. The curly fries was so crispy and tasty. Their drink specials are a great deal. The waiter gave exceptional service, he kept checking in us and recommending us different items to try. We tried the peach cobbler, it was alright not bad. The best I’ve had is in Atlanta lol. Anyways, the spot definitely gets busy so make reservations to be seated ahead of time, at least that’s what we did. Will come back for some brisket just love the Texan south vibes I get . Parking lot is only $5 for the day.

We ordered the Pittmasters Pit and it fed 6 of us. Every single item was very delicious . The waitress was excellent. The atmosphere was amazing. The busboys were awesome and nice. I recommend going to this restaurant.

We were there 9/26/23

Service was great! Friendly & helpful people

Watermelon Sugar was ok

48-hour Smoked Wings with Buffalo Sauce was amazing this I can eat a dozen of hehehe. You can taste the smokeyness even through the spicy Buffalo sauce.

Pitmaster’s Pick – 1 lb of brisket, 4 ribs, 4 sausages & 1/2 smoked chicken choice of (4) medium or (2) large sides, serves 4
Brisket was tender and good
Sausages were strange, way too much Tyme or Rosemary (I’m not very familiar with either, so I can’t exactly pinpoint it, I just know it is very pungent)
Smoke chicken was dry, which is weird because the wings were delicious…
Ribs were OK
Baked Beans were so watery, more like a soup… it tasted burnt
Collard Greens were good, once I got home and drained all of the liquid, which was very oily.

I would stick to the wings and skip everything else…

I had high hopes for House of Que, but unfortunately, the experience was underwhelming. The place was almost empty—you could count the open tables with four hands—yet somehow, the service was still painfully slow. Our server barely checked on us, and getting a refill or even basic condiments felt like pulling teeth. It was as if they forgot we were even there.

The food arrived quickly; however, it was cold, flavorless, and unimpressive. The brisket was dry and rubbery, the ribs were tough and chewy, and the sides tasted like they came straight from a freezer. I’ve had better barbecue at a gas station in Texas, and that’s not an exaggeration. Even the presentation was lackluster, like no effort was put into making the meal enjoyable.

The only saving grace of the evening was the bingo, which was actually fun—but even that ended in disappointment. We couldn’t redeem our rewards tonight, which was frustrating since we’re all from out of state and won’t be back. At this point, it feels like a complete waste of time and money. House of Que might work if you’re just there for drinks and entertainment, but if you’re looking for quality barbecue, good service, or even fair rewards, this isn’t the place. Definitely not worth the hype, and we’ll never return.

Updated: the BBQ made me violently sick. I was up all night. When I finally got to sleep it was time to leave. This was hands down the worst eating experience I’ve had in a very long time.
