Chinese classics from egg rolls to noodle & rice dishes, served in a low-key, strip-mall space.

I got the coconut boba since I love boba, hands down best boba I have ever had. I also got the pepper steak meal, the rice was light and complimented the pepper steak. The service was fast and great, and the prices were very good. Definitely would come back here

Came here for the first time and the food came out in less than 10 minutes. The quality of the food was excellent as well as tasty. I would definitely recommend getting the shrimp and chicken because they were expertly cooked, but the crab rangoons were little underwhelming. The atmosphere was ok and not busy at all, even though we went at peak dinner time. They also have so many boba options and it’s not too sweet at all.

While they were friendly and service was prompt, the food was terrible. Coming from the state of NY over 10 yrs ago, i have steered away from Chinese food after others that have relocated here said it was difficult to find anything decent. After a long search my husband selected House of Leng due to both location and reviews. We ordered shrimp fried rice, crab ragoon, fried chicken wings, and general (tso) chicken. The food was tasteless!
The general (tso) chicken, my favorite dish, was the worst I’ve ever had, and it wasn’t just the dark meat, but the sauce itself had no flavor. I tasted no garlic soy sauce or ginger. No seasoning and/or marinade on the meat itself. Terribly bland. The chicken pieces were also fried to hard.
The chicken wings were huge, almost the size of a chicken drumstick. That alone makes them more likely to be bland. The expectation was real. Despite the good smell, plain meaty taste with nothing to add flavor.
The fried rice and shrimp fried rice are the same seasonless food. My mother couldn’t even eat it. I’ve never tasted Chinese food so awful. The best thing was the crab ragoon despite the limited filling. My greatest regret was not taking the ride to Lotus Express which isn’t the best but definitely far better than this. I thought i was treating myself but it ended up being nothing more than a waste of money. I’m beyond disappointed.
Edited to say the portions were fine. This is the only reason I gave them 2 stars.

The food was very good and hot, rightfully so. We came in about right when they just opened. Our waiter was very nice and friendly. Overall the staff were all nice. It’s been a minute since we’ve been at this restaurant, but we will be coming back.

We love House of Leng! They are a staple in our house for a Friday night take out. We also order their take out and enjoy it every Christmas Eve and get plenty of food so we have leftovers Christmas Day. The staff is always pleasant and the food is delicious. I have a few favorites of course but have ordered different meals and have never been disappointed. The are consistent every order. Thank you House of Leng!

This review is for House of Leng, not Door dash.
I would rate this disaster a zero if I could. Boba Tea was missing. We ordered vegetable fried rice. Lo mein was delivered.
My wife called the restaurant. The lady was nice. They offered a credit, but our granddaughter was here and she really wanted the boba. My wife had to drive there, a 30 minute round trip, to pick it up because they had no drivers. What a disaster!!! I’ll be finding another Chinese restaurant before I ever order from House of Leng.

It was quite disappointing. I say that because I expected the food to match the price. I ordered the seafood delight which is something I’ve had from several different Chinese Restaurants but in the past I’ve not had to pay as much. I must be fair and say the portion was acceptable. My only complaint is that I expected the flavors to be so much more appeasing. In the end it was just mid-level. I am happy that what I got did match the way it was shown and that’s important to me. Others may feel differently so I want to be careful not to dissuade other patrons from trying it. I also may give it one more chance by ordering something else before I make a definitive decision. If so I will definitely update.

Me and my wife found this place off of Tiktok. The Food was absolutely trash. I ordered the General Tso Chicken. The General Tso sauce was giving more like a burbon sauce instead of it being sweet. My wife ordered the fried chicken wings and veggie lo mein with garlic sauce on the side. The wings were decent I must say but the garlic sauce was horrible. It tasted more like a soy sauce with a hint of garlic with no spice. We spent $37 and was totally not satisfied with our order.

We ordered over $50 worth of food on Christmas Eve and it took nearly 3 hours to complete. There were people who placed their orders two hours after us and received their food before we did. They did not work through orders in the way that they were received and created a stressful experience both for themselves and for the customers. I called several times and was told each time 15-20 minutes while my sister watched them inside the store not check anything but regurgitate the same uninformed time frame to every customer that asked about the status of their food all while rushing me off of the phone. They could have stopped accepting orders so that they were not stressed and so that they didn’t create a stressful customer experience for patrons. There were better ways to have handled this holiday chaos and they handled it poorly. And not only after receiving this order nearly three hours late, the order was inaccurate and missing items. I will not ever order from here again. A waste of my time, energy, and money. I should have gone to china cafe instead.

I’m from Virginia Beach and live in Summerville, SC. We were in town and got some food to go. I can’t tell you how happy I was when I stepped inside. It has the same feeling and smells as my favorite places in VA Beach, which has a sizable Asian population. The staff had a wide variety of personalities, but all of them were wonderful and efficient. They run a tight ship!
The food was perfect. If it was fried, even fried and sauced, it had a satisfying crunch. The meats were tender. The sauces were savory. The veggies perfectly cooked. The fried rice is real fried rice! In the Charleston area, most of the Asian restaurants do a fake fried rice with yellow rice and I can’t stand it! House of Leng’s rice is real! For this alone I could kiss them! The Lo Mein was absolutely perfect! I can’t give this restaurant enough praise! The food and the prices are worth a trip!
This isn’t a fine dining Asian restaurant, but I’m not a fan of the stuffiness of fine dining. I want loud Asian servers pointing, yelling and laughing. I want an older auntie and uncle welcoming me and making me feel like I’m home again. Whenever I come to the Charlotte area, I know where I’m going and next time I’m dining in!
