House of Joy is a classic Chinese restaurant like what you see in a Hollywood film or one you may have visited growing up. It reminds me of some of the local places available to us growing up in West L. A. near China Town. The ingredients are fresh, the sauces are unique but not far from traditional flavors and the dishes they offer will certainly meet your expectations. They serve up all the classics and a variety of house items like Peking wings, House of Joy chicken and many others. The portions are generous, the wait staff is very attentive and prices are reasonable. Pay House of Joy a visit and enjoy some good Chinese cuisine.

If you’re in the high desert, definitely a good place to go for Asian food. Sushi rolls are delicious, so is the house of joy fried rice and the orange chicken. Friendly customer service. Just kind of slow with the orders.

From what we tried, it was good stuff. This is the HD folks, but we enjoyed the flavors in the chow mein and my Szechwan beef was flavorful, soft, and pretty spicy. If you are weak in heat tolerance, stay away. The plate was filled and can feed four. Lots of vegetables but also a nice amount of tender meat. The hot and sour was deep in flavor and had some large mushrooms included. The Egg Drop soup was mild in flavor, but nonetheless delicious. The fried rice is the outlier as it was bland. Basically white rice toasted. A great experience overall. Tab was 45.00, no drinks ordered. The Dining area could use some updating. The parking lot is a bit bumpy to say the least as well. Can be missed on that busy road. Also difficult to exit for some people, be careful. I will be going back.

Waitress very friendly. Made us feel welcome. Food pretty good. Loved the wonton with cream cheese. Wished there was pineapple in the sweet and sour pork, but there wasn’t but the meat was cooked well. They could use some good music and the bathroom could use a remodel but enjoyed our dinner there anyway.

Not your average take out Chinese food restaurant. This was a family sit down restaurant that offers plates to share as well as individual plates. They offer a variety of Sushi and various entrees cooked fresh to order. The food was quite nice and the service was grand. I recommend this restaurant to those looking for something different.

Good Food. They didn’t have teriyaki chicken, they said the closest they had was House Of Joy Chicken. We got that and it was pretty good. My kids devoured the food. We don’t like peas and they were able to make the rice with no peas. Orange chicken was just okay. But the chow mein and Fried Rice and HOJ chicken was really good.

These are a few of our favorites. Lemon chicken, House of Joy marinated beef, Mixed Seafood with vegetables, Egg drop soup and the Appetizer Plate are delicious.

My wife and I really enjoyed this place. The waiters were really nice. Since we got there we received jasmine tea and appetizer. The wonton soup was really flavorful, the egg rolls were crispy. Then we got the orange chicken which was fanatic. I do think the chow main dish could have a little more flavor and the broccoli was a bit hard.We also got a sushi and it was the best I have tried in the high desert! Would come back just for the sushi! Over all I really like how we got a little of very thing and we would recommend.

They were not very busy and there were 3 waitresses. One seemed to be in training and wasn’t helping customers. The one waitress seemed to be handling all the tables as well as the phone and the takeout orders. The veggies in the dishes were fresh but in pretty big pieces and we were not given knives, just a fork. The fried rice that came with the entrees was pretty bland and was just rice with a bit of soy sauce and a very few small pieces of egg…no veggies or onion. The sauce on my House of Joy pork was bland, as it was on my wife’s stir fried veggies. Maybe the spicy

Friendly service, although they were short staffed. I ordered the mixed seafood plate off of the lunch menu. It came with tea, soup of the day (it was egg drop soup), rice, an egg roll and a wonton. The portion size was huge. In fact no one in our party was able to finish their dish- the waitress gave us ‘boxes’ to take left over food home.
