If you’re dining on a budget, House of Joy will fill up your plate for less, but that doesn’t mean that the quality of our dishes is compromised. Standard Americanized Chinese place. Everything was made fresh. I ordered the lunch special triple delight, fried rice, egg drop, and an egg roll. It came out to around 12.50.

Service was great. The food was horrible. Myself and my daughter got a seafood plate and everything tasted like it was boiled without seasoning. They also has sauces at the table that seemed to be multi use. Not sure how they keep that sanitary.

Just wanted soup & eggrolls. So sorry we stopped.
Food was lukewarm. I even asked the nice waiter if the soup was hot. He said yes but it wasn’t. Then I asked why the wonton in the soup was empty. He said they don’t put meat inside them anymore; something about them sitting out for a while. That was the first time I’d ever heard or experienced that.
The eggroll tasted ok but again, it was lukewarm.
The yellow hot mustard on the table seemed very old. Its container was dirty.
My guy’s hot and sour soup was too sweet, didn’t seem like it had seen a mushroom; it had a pale color. Also lukewarm.
MY ADVICE: DO NOT EAT HERE.

I have been eating here for almost 40 years. My kids and grandkids have grown up eating here as well. The owner is a great guy and everyone that works here is friendly and professional. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Food: The food was delivered so fast and had a generous amount of serving. The taste was not much it’s somehow bland. The soup was better than the main course. Giving 2 stars for the food as after we dine in here I felt sick and starting feel uneasy in my stomach.
Place: It was clean as far my eyes can see and they practice social distancing.
Service: There’s only one lady serving everyone she’s doing great as we are not much. Nothing extra or special.

Delicious food for great prices! Great customer service our server was very attentive. You will definitely have leftovers because the portions are very generous.

My first impression of the House of Joy was very good. The restuarant is very clean, well decorated and convenient. The prices are reasonable for food and amount they offer. The lunch specials were great with good prices. From sesame chicken to beef lo meun they got it all. You should come by with friends and family and you won’t be disappointed. Good place for lunch and dinner. Highly Recommended!!!

This place used to be really good, but now the quality of the food is just ok. I still love the atmosphere of this place, but I was disappointed with the quality of my dish. It tasted kind of bland, and I didn’t like the flavor of the meat. I also think the fried rice flavors were off, and so it wasn’t that good either. We were the only customers in sight on a Tuesday night, and the server seemed very disinterested in taking care of our table, like taking our orders etc was a task he didn’t want to be doing. Food was delivered to our table incredibly fast and had great presentation, which is why the lack of good taste hit even harder. Currently for the price I would expect better flavors.
Overall I’d be willing to give it another shot, ordering a different dish to see if it was just my order or if it’s an overall issue.

House of Joy has some of the best Chinese in the city. The wonton soup was full of flavor. I ordered the General Tso’s Orange Chicken and it was perfectly spicy and sweet. Don’t forget to ask for their Jasmine sweet tea it’s served on ice and keeps me coming back for more!
