This was my first time eating in the restaurant. I usually eat them at Festival of Nations. I had the red snapper for the first time and it was good. I will definitely be back that piqued my interest on the menu. I spent about $62 which I’m happy with because I love their food.

After I finished my food I was angry, why, because it doesn’t make any sense for food to be this good. It’s actually insulting that the food was this good. I think I’m angry because there isn’t a location in Belleville (where I live). I drove 50 minutes and I was not disappointed. I believe the man that took my order was the owner and he was so nice, you don’t see that often above the Mason Dixon line. He gave me a sample of the egusi soup without me asking because I mentioned this was my first time trying authentic African food, which was really thoughtful. The bowl of water definitely through me for a loop at first.(I clearly didn’t realize how messy my hands were going to get). They know what they’re doing in that kitchen, they deserve a Nobel peace prize for these flavors alone. I highly recommend 10/10.

It was my son, and I’s first-time trying House Of Joloff, and I can honestly say we will be back. We did a quick google search for Nigerian food (my 13 year old son likes to try different foods). House of Joloff was the first restaurant to pop up on our good search for Nigerian cuisine. It was a 30-minute drive for us, and it was DEFINITELY worth it. We ordered the Joloff rice with Oxtail and mild spice, Egusi soup with Chicken and side of Fufu, and a delicious meat pie/empanda, which they have a veggie options but we ordered the beef meat pie and it was cooked to perfection, so simple but with so much flavor. Every dish we had was just packed with so much flavor, African spices, oxtail meat falling off the bone, to the egusi soup that was surprisingly delicious! We will definitely be back. Absolutely amazing first time. They did NOT disappoint. The father and daughter were so helpful when we needed to order and understand the menu. Thank you so much for a wonderful meal!

To start with, I have nearly no experience with any Nigerian cuisine, so if it’s not authentic, I wouldn’t know. That said, here’s my experience with a small group. They had music playing when we entered. It was a bit loud for such a small space, but it did get a bit quieter after a bit. There’s not a whole lot to say about the atmosphere, but it is clean and taken care of. The only person we saw ran both the register as well as waited the tables. That said, he was quite friendly and helpful. The food seemed fairly reasonably priced if you don’t get the expensive meats. Otherwise, your $10 meal can quickly get up over $20. When our food arrived, it all looked tasty. By the time we were wrapping up, everyone seemed more than satisfied with the flavor. The only weird thing is that the chicken was served whole bone-in, whether it is in soup or on rice. My wife found it difficult to get the meat off in her soup. I do plan on coming by here again to try some other dishes.

I had chicken with jollof rice and salad. Perhaps the salad was different due to the culture. I did not enjoy the salad at all. And the jollof rice was lacking flavor in my opinion. Still tasty but for the price of $40 I was not pleased.

This is one of the only African restaurants in the area. Fast, friendly service. Employees will graciously help you determine what you want to try. One of the more important aspects of this restaurant is consistency. This restaurant is always open as listed on their site. Other, similar restaurants have wishy-washy business hours. You can never tell when or if their open. Please stay consistent.

I’ve seen some Nigerian chefs cooking on TV shows so I wanted to give some Nigerian food a try.
I don’t want to judge this food because I’m not familiar with it and I don’t know how it was supposed to taste.
The restaurant was clean and inviting. The staff was courteous and helpful.
The chicken we ordered was overdone and very dry however, it was tasty. The rice was good, it reminded me of Spanish rice.
The peanut soup was like eating a bowl of hot soupy peanut butter. I didn’t like it. I’ve had boiled peanuts before. In Florida, you can’t go to an event or a flea market without buying a bag of boiled peanuts. That’s the flavor I was expecting.
I would like to find another Nigerian restaurant so I can compare. Give it a try and see if you like it.

FINALLY had the pleasure of visiting House Of Jollof to sit down, and enjoy authentic West & East African cuisine. Atmosphere was a laid back vibe. It wasn’t packed at all so I took it as an opportunity to dine in with my daughter, who just recently started solids and was just excited as I was! Everything was delicious as usual. Staff was very friendly, and accommodating!

My wife and I visited on a Sunday afternoon and tried the rice jollof w/ goat, egusi and okra soup. The food was wonderful and full of flavor. Delicious.
Even better than the food was the experience. The staff was very accommodating and offered samples of items before we ordered to make sure we liked them. Each order was prepared as we ordered it: spicy, mild, exactly as we wished.
We were welcomed and it was obvious that they wanted us to be happy with their food and service. We will be back!
