The food was excellent. I ordered the chicken korma, and it was absolutely delicious, creamy, flavorful, and perfectly balanced with just the right level of spice. You can tell it’s made fresh and with care. The naan came out warm, soft, and fresh, and paired perfectly with the korma. Every part of the meal felt satisfying and authentic.
What really stood out, though, was the customer service. The staff were friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming, making sure we had everything we needed while still giving us space to enjoy the experience. That level of hospitality always makes a difference.
The prices were very reasonable for the quality and portions, which makes this a great spot whether you’re a local or just visiting St. Louis.
If you’re looking for a reliable Indian restaurant in St. Louis with great food, welcoming service, and a comfortable atmosphere, I highly recommend House of India. I’ll absolutely be back next time I’m in town.
I was really looking forward to some authentic Indian flavors, but unfortunately this didn’t quite hit the mark for me. The dishes felt more adapted to a general palate than reflective of traditional Indian cooking—spices were muted, some classic techniques seemed missing, and a few items tasted like they leaned on pre-made bases.
Service was friendly but food missed the taste.
The food was flavorful and fresh.
I enjoyed my meal. The surprise treat for me was the Gulab Jamun. It was my first time trying it and I found it to be delicious.
The next time, I definitely plan to get the “dine in” experience.
Fresh tasty treat! Also, my take-out order was a large portion for sure!
From menu planning to presentation and serving guidance, the entire team worked closely with us to ensure a seamless and truly memorable experience for our guests. Highlights included live preparation of hot chicken kebabs in our backyard, freshly made naan and other breads, and a special winter delicacy, sarson ka saag, served with traditional pickles and homemade-style butter.
Several other dishes also stood out and left a lasting impression on everyone in attendance.
Thank you to the House of India team for delivering an exceptional culinary experience.
