Very nice place to have lunch. We travel an hour and decided to stop for a late lunch. Great food, great service and atmosphere. The price was great also. We will be stopping there more often.

Like any other Chinese/asian restaurant.

We tried their shrimp + vegetable, hot and spicy chicken and shrimp combo (not at all spicy but sweet instead), steamed vegetable dumpling, hot and sour soup.

Street parking.

I had a lovely dinner here with my family after visiting Watkins Glen State Park. The service was incredibly efficient, and it was nice that they were open late. The food was nothing special, but it was fine for a casual restaurant. We chose to have Chinese food, but there is a decent selection of Japanese food too. We ordered wanton soup, egg drop soup, spring rolls, hot tea, sweet and sour chicken, and beef chow mei fun. The building is somewhat run down though, and there were strange handwritten paper signs on the walls, hindering the ambiance slightly.

Absolutely the worst chinese food I’ve ever had. The server was lovely, but she couldn’t make up for the terrible food.
The fried wonton strips with sauce, as a starter was a nice try.
But the strips were stale and the sweet and sour sauce was ice cold.

We ordered the pupu platter and it looked lovely, but nothing was good.
The ribs were inedible. They were very very dry and we were not able to eat anything off the dried out sticks.
The shrimp was 80% batter.
I didn’t bother with the rest.
We ordered sweet and sour pork.
The battered and fried pork arrived alone on it’s own plate. The sauce was in a separate container.
The whole thing was very disappointing.

The place is absolutely breathe taking with the decor, and the hospitality was excellent along with the great food and beverages. This was date #16 for my fiancee and I before we get married, and this place will be one of our favorites to eat at! The Szechuan chicken and rice was awesome and the duck so tender juicy but not gammy taste or texture.

This one pains me to say. They have gone way….w a y…………W A Y down hill. This wasn’t like this a year ago. I don’t know if the restaurant has been sold and under new owners or if the tourist tax of Watkins has become to high. This used to be the place to go for Chinese food in Watkins. It was always hopping in there. Smiling faces , hard to get a table, the whole family would be working ( their kids would seat you). It was a wonderful place , not anymore. Last night was my worst experience. The service was okay. That is about where everything positive ends. The whole atmosphere was sad and felt as if they were closing the doors for good in a week. The beautiful stair case that led to their second floor was blocked and covered with dining chairs and small tables. No light music playing in the background ,just the sounds of the cook talking could be heard. My wife , 2 sons, and I were the only people there (7:10 on a Friday night). We were greeted at the table with a note on the wall that says push for service and a button next to it. As we looked around, the sushi bar is now closed, their alcohol bar is closed, and a lot of tables had personal items on them. It’s no longer welcoming. The waitress was polite when we saw her. Since they no longer serve alcohol I got a sprite that was flatter than a high top hair cut from the 80s. I asked for another, and while she was in the kitchen getting me another one I could clearly hear a bottle being opened and poured into my glass. THAT’S HOW QUIET IT WAS IN THERE lol. We ordered and our food came fairly quickly. The cook brought out each plate to us, one at a time. Thought that was different. Smaller portions, yet still tasted good. The only way I was able to get the waitress back was for me to push the button on the wall. We were the only people there……. I no longer find this to be the great House of Hong that it once was. I suggest ordering takeout and ovoiding eating there.
