Reviews
This place is unique (half self serve/half sit down). Orders are taken at the counter. For dine in orders, you self serve the plates, utensils, water and napkins. Dont forget the free chai. Main dishes are served table side. Payments are made at the cashier.
Very Large serving amount compared to other Indian restaurants and the Man in the photo serves the food is the most humble and very charming human being.

A must-try for flavorful curries and authentic South Asian dishes in Berkeley!
We got paneer tikka masala, naan, rice, and vegetable samosas. The samosas were the only thing with flavor. The curry was almost laughable. They were no flavors other than cream of tomato soup. Zero spice.
I had placed a takeout order when we arrived to bring home to family. I ended up cancelling it when we got our food because it was so bad and I didn’t want to waste anymore money.
I feel kind of bad because the people running it were really nice. When asked how everything was, I just said “great, thank you” – I didn’t have the heart to tell the truth.
It was $60 out the door with the tip – way too much money for disappointing food.
The real mystery is where are all these other reviews raving about the food coming from?! I’m truly stumped. Is the other location better and I picked the wrong one?
I gave it two stars because the food didn’t make us sick at all, but rather lacked any flavor, and the staff was warm and friendly.
