Social Profile:

Inspiration for House of Chong came from years of experience from Kai and Helen Chong. From there Dan and Linda Chong, with much help from family members and employees with in the communities, the HOC became the trusted source for American Chinese Food in Monmouth and Ocean Counties. The original HOC was located on Brick Boulevard in Brick Township from 1969 – 2007. The next House of Chong took shape in Middletown, New Jersey from Village Mall 1976 to our current location in Union Square. Memories continue to be made within these walls. Whether in bar, cuisine, dining, delivery or take out, few have replicated the House of Chong. The Chong’s and our team, are grateful and proud in continuing to serve our communities.

We had a nice dinner!. There are very generous portions and great service here. The chicken & broccoli and sesame chicken was tender and flavorful. A great place to go with any size group for a nice dining experience.

Fantastic customer service and food. Best teriyaki steak on a stick I’ve ever had. I don’t know how they manage to cook such a thin slice of meat so perfectly. Make sure to check out the unique ice cream flavors in the cooler at the front.

Where do i start, the service was amazing, and the food was exemplary! the vibes inside were unmatched by anything. to further elaborate on the service, i asked about the pricing of mochi at the front desk, to which he said “i got it” and gave it to me on the house, not to mention the pricing already was way more then affordable! i would drive a million miles for this, 10/10 would recommend!

My husband and I happened upon Mr. David Chong and we overheard him say his restaurant is called House of Chong, decided to try it out.. We started with ribs, blown away, incredible taste. Then we both got general tso chicken with fried rice, we DEFINITELY will be coming back, that was the best general tso chicken!! Hands down the best Chinese food in Monmouth county.

$62.00 for terrible tasting food.
Shrimp with lobster sauce the shrimp was terrible must have been frozen for 5 years. Egg drop soup with no eggs in it like water.
Spare ribs were terrible very old. pork fried rice tasted very strange.
I was very disappointed in the food. I heard so much about this place. There must be better Chinese food restaurants out there. This is not a high-end Chinese restaurant.

I wish that I was a food critic that could shut restaurants down reviews. I do not care how much I spend on food all I ask for is that the food is good. I spent 140$ on food from this restaurant and it was horrible. So bad that I threw it all in the garbage. I wouldn’t even give it to a starving animal. I could’ve got better food from Wawa if they made Chinese food. The fried dumplings were raw, the eggs rolls were the worst egg rolls I have ever eaten, the food had absolutely no flavor and came with no sauce on it, the chicken wings were soggy and the mustard and duck sauce that I spent money on were so watered down it wasn’t even sauce it was flavored water. Please. If you read and trust reviews, trust this one. DO NOT GET FOOD FROM HERE! IT IS A WASTE OF YOUR MONEY!

Don’t drink the restaurant water. It was very obvious to me.They need a water purification system. The smell was like rotten , eggs and fish. Which tells me the water is high in sulfur. If they’re going to use tap water from the restaurant they’re in dire need of a purification system immediately. To be on the safe side , choose a soda beverage or better yet… double up on something from the bar.

Absolutely horrific experience. I clearly said Chicken and Broccoli to the waiter and he brought Beef and Broccoli. Ok everyone makes mistakes, no big deal. But the waiter was pissed and called me a liar. I went to the front desk and they were just like well you can leave. Absolutely horrific experience. No customer should be bet be called a liar by the wait staff.

Only one other couple there at 5pm on a weekend. That should tell you something. Absolutely do not recommend.

Super bummed to be leaving this review. We’ve been going to house of Chong for almost 10 years. In the last couple years we have become more and more disappointed. Tonight we waited double the amount of time they said it would take..(said it would be about 30 minutes and we waited almost 40 minutes past that). We got home and they forgot the crispy noodles and when we opened our beef with broccoli, there were literally 4 small pieces of beef and the rest just broccoli. For how much they charge..unacceptable. It’s a real shame because the food is really good. I think we are done going here.
