We are a family owned bar located right off of Sheridan road, just about 0.7 miles from Carthage college. We open right at 11am with the grill fired up & ready to go! We have tables inside with a full bar & dance floor. Outside we have a full deck & and a outside bar surrounded by a mini golf course, volleyball, baggo & a huge fire pit! We have many bar games to choose from such as pool, darts, shake of the day, machines, dice, beer pong, ps4, Xbox, wii, Nintendo, and many more! We provide parties, deck parties, fundraisers, & many special events. Although we may be a crazy college bar at night time, 11-8pm is pretty chill & relaxing with all the old timers, city workers & of course our awesome regulars. Check us out & enjoy!

Super cool dive bar. All the staff were friendly and respectful. The bartender was really nice, and when she realized there was no grenadine for my drinks, she offered tasty replacements! Love the deck outside too! Fun place to hang out with friends and enjoy some good drinks.

Somers is easily my favorite bar in town. The drinks are cheap, the music is always good, and the vibe is perfect. Whether you’re out with friends or just stopping by for a quick drink, it never disappoints. The bartenders are fast and friendly, and the crowd is always a good time.

I started coming to Somer’s House about a year ago now, and it’s always been a great time. It’s a great place for young people to go out with their friends and get a “club vibe” on weekends without having to travel too far into cities. Also to mention, the prices are very reasonable and accommodate the college students nearby. I’ve always felt safe with the staff that’s there, if I ever have an issue I bring it up to the security or the owner and it gets handled well. Of course, like any other place you go too, you have to stay vigilant of your belongings and your drink, it’s no different than any other bar you’ll enter.
But as a young woman, I enjoy coming here a lot. I’ve met a lot of great people through this bar and I’m always more than happy to recommend my friends to come with me. It’s officially my go-to bar to hangout with my friends.

Sommer House is an absolute gem! The atmosphere is warm and inviting, making it the perfect place to have fun. The staff is incredibly friendly and attentive, always making sure you feel welcome. The owner and his wife are some of the nicest people you’ll meet—they genuinely love connecting with their customers, which adds such a personal touch. It’s become a go-to spot for my fiancée and me, and we can’t recommend it enough. Whether you’re stopping in for a casual drink or a night out, Sommer House never disappoints!

This is not a safe bar for women. The security here threw out a friend after she was drugged by one of the bar patrons. Please be careful if you wish to go here. I’ve also heard multiple other horror stories from women having similar experiences.

I want to make it super clear. The bartenders were great! Super nice and quick with service! I have absolutely 0, nada, not a single complaint about the staff.
Now, the reason for my 3 stars is because of the look and smell.
First off, the look: it is a bigger space that is pretty empty. Aside from a pool table and a few seats, nothing made it really stand out.
Secondly, the smell: My girlfriend and her brother both complained to me about the smell. It was like stale incents being burnt. I wasn’t too bothered by it personally at first, but I had to step outside a few times for some air.
Lastly, I didn’t use the bathroom because my friend told me that the smell would probably make me puke, and the urinal was draining slow because of a clog that looked like a film or gel of urine.

Great place for lunch. The burgers ate definitely fresh, and the fries are great. I Don’t even like fries, but these are great. The lemonade is fresh made, and the outdoor area is a comfortable place to be on a Summer afternoon.
The staff is very friendly and make you want to come back again. Which I definitely will do.

I truly do love small town bars. The bartender was either tipsy or like just an airhead, but enjoyable for sure. I couldn’t tell who worked here or who were just local regulars that could do whatever. Whoever had control of the music who get really into an artist and play 4 songs of them in a row. The bathrooms weren’t the best, but still a good time all around. I’d go back. Also… tiny plastic cups?
