Hidden gem alert. They seriously need to market better in Columbus. Imagine if Applebee’s, Chili’s, Longhorn, Outback, Red Lobster never franchised and were still as good as the 90s/ early 2000s. Houlihan’s is by far the most bang for your buck American comfort food restaurant in Cbus. Prices are really so beyond fair it’s like this is the last oasis left surviving the scourge of inflation. The ambience and decor were also pleasantly surprising. Service was top notch, our server Michelle was super helpful, bubbly and kind. Recommendations: cauliflower, scallops, steak and that damn good twice baked potato souffle. Just wow.

My husband and I came here for Thanksgiving dinner. It was our first time. We ordered the cream cheese stuffed chicken, prime rib, macaroni and cheese, and fried spicy cauliflower.

The food was terribly bland, no seasoning whatsoever. My chicken was very dry. The macaroni and cheese was also very under seasoned. We were very disappointed.

Went here for my birthday dinner. Food was decent. But for the price I figured it would be a bit better. One of the few places that has a twice baked potatoes and man was it good. Highly recommend getting it.

The restaurant was nice. They have a nice little outdoor area to sit when the weather is nice. Staff was friendly with prompt service.

A great meal if you are looking for some delicious items on the menu. Few vegetarian, and tasty options available for vegetarians. The soup was delectable and the scallops were super tasty. Loved the Nachos and spinach dip! Cocktails are worth a try and are very refreshing. A good stop if you have an official event or if you want to have a good time with friends and family.

Houlihan’s provides a great experience for somebody looking for a place that goes all out for ‘American’ cuisine. I started with the avocado and chicken egg rolls, which were not the best I’ve had, they were still well-prepared and tasteful. However, my entree, the Crab Melt sandwich, was a real nice surprise. It was something a little different from my usual choices and I wasn’t mad at it at all. The atmosphere was relaxed and inviting, not too crowded, which made for a nice, laid-back dining experience for me and my people. Our waitress was friendly and attentive, adding to the overall positive vibes. I’d definitely recommend giving Houlihan’s a try!

I used to frequent Houlihan’s years ago, haven’t been much in recent years but that might be a mistake. I’ve been twice in recent months and the food has been good, service was great and it was nice to eat on the patio. We tried the fixed price menu and given current dining prices it was a fair price. For $25 we got a wide choice of apps and entrees plus dessert (don’t sleep on the creme brulee). I think Houlihan’s is back on my dinner rotation.

We went here for dinner with our family and let’s just say a fast food run was in order when we left.
The food was overall old and cold. The prime rib looked old, like it was there for a while. It was cold and red on the inside, when asked for well done. The lemon chicken was actually good but too cold to eat. The Burger my son had was bright ted on the inside.
No eating utensils were supplied. The waitress saw a cup spill, walked away and never came back. I had to get up and ask for napkins and silverware.
We paid and I left a tip since I know some things are not controlled by the wait staff.
We probably won’t return here unless I happen to be in the area and need to use the coupon management gave me.

I did a carry out order but got there a little early. The inside is nice the staff was very friendly. The place was decently busy. Parking lot was packed. Got the food. Order was perfect. Food cooked as ordered. The tast was delicious. The chicken nachos had the perfect kick to it. If you want cutlery or condiments. For a to go order. I do suggest asking for it or noting on the order.

Service: Was a bit spotty, but its COVID times and they could be overwhelmed. I’d not read too much into it and give them another chance. The servers, greeters and the other staff were very apologetic and courteous.

Food: killing taste, I ordered 1 of everything from their menu. I tried everything. Off the charts taste. A slight delay in getting to the food, but I covered that in the service part.

Price: We went during happy hour. Most of what we ordered were from the Happy hour menu and it was a flat rate of $5. Please see the pictures, it’ll surprise you the quality and quantity of the food.

Overall: 5 Stars

First time there, found it thru the official Landry’s restaurant list, and wanted to use my Landry’s rewards card balance.
It was quiet enough to talk – rare for a bar setting.
Food was meh.
Service was a bit slow, and forgot silverware. Had to order a side on an unimpressive Asian chop salad. Steak was ok, but better elsewhere for the price.
Went to pay with a gift card and my rewards balance and it took at least 25 minutes to find out that while the Landry’s gift card worked (after some struggle I did not have to see) they could not use the Landry’s rewards balance – Apparently some collision between the corporate and the store.
Manager: “we never do the rewards card thing here”
me: “this is a Landry’s restaurant, right?”
Manager: “yes, and I called the office and the off-shore people told me the card has to start with a 6. … then they hung up on me. Here’s the number – you can call it and see for yourself.”
Me: “I guess I have no reason to come back”
(why would I want to call that number only to be abused like you were?? Why are you suggesting I waste my time like that?)

They did give us $30 restaurant credit and a free appetizer *after* I paid the balance, which was only about $34. Really? Can’t just comp the meal after the hassle and bland first time experience? Do you want a chance to try again with us? (you could have done both and earned another opportunity to impress. I recommend reading The Power of Moments by the Heath brothers.)

Not impressed. Not going back.

Update:
In response to “Unfortunetly, we are not of Landry’s Systems. It does state on the back of the cards and on the Landry’s website under Terms and Conditions that it is not redeemable at Houlihans.” I will observe that the [Landry’s] gift card worked, and recommend that the owners get in or get out to resolve this problem.
To others reading this, it might be a decent place to go, but not a great place to be loyal.
