I stopped by HotShots Bar & Grill around 3 PM and was impressed right from the moment I walked in. The service was quick—someone greeted me as soon as I stepped through the door, and within the first 30 minutes, I noticed the management (Drew) making their rounds, personally checking in with customers. That kind of attention to detail is always a good sign.

The atmosphere was relaxed and comfortable. The music was playing at just the right volume—not too loud, not too quiet—and the lighting set a chill vibe without being too dim. Even though it was a slower time of day, the place still had a welcoming energy that made me want to hang out longer.

Food came out fast and hot, just the way it should. My drink was perfectly mixed with the right balance—no heavy hand on the liquor or syrupy mess. And I’ve gotta give a shoutout to Bri, the bartender. She was amazing—friendly, on top of things, and made the whole experience even better. Definitely a spot I’ll be coming back to.

First off, the food was GREAT! I had the Glazed and Confused burger with tots. Excellent!

We were there at 11:45 for lunch. The place was FILTHY. Tables were still wet and sticky from the night before. Cookies on counters. Drinks on tables.

We wanted to play Golden Tee but it wasn’t online and the machine wouldn’t accept any bills. It would take quarters, but the waitress only got quarters from her tip jar, and wouldn’t take any from the cash drawer. Once she was out, we were done.

When we left at 1:30, there were 5 other patrons. So, they weren’t busy. Had a couple of questionable characters milling around near us for a couple minutes, but given the music in there, that made sense.

The jukebox was “paused” so nobody could play anything. The music that was playing was modern mumble jumble auto tune street rap. Not good in a sports bar, but that seems to be the crowd they attract.

I likely won’t return. If I did, I would order food to go. They don’t seem to care for the entire customer base.

Was in there on 02/26/26 we waited 5min before even being told 2 sit wherever we wanted so after finally sitting down waited 10min and nobody ever showed up to take our drink orders or anything. A total of 15min waiting and not even being acknowledged by a employee . They were playing music (rap) with cussing in it. Maybe 5 tables worth of people sitting and it was the worse experience being in a place to eat. We ended up just leaving and going somewhere else
DECATUR TRASH! WOULD NOT RECCOMEND!!!!.

Nice place. The staff is slower than most. Drinks are quicker if you order at the bar and wait yourself. Good selection and pricing is comparable to local spots in the area.

I’ve been to Hotshots twice. Food was pretty decent but service was slow on my first visit. Went on sunday 10/26/25 about 630 or 7 pm. After 10 minutes of no service the waitress walked to the back with no assurance we would ever be served. After 15 min we went to the Lincoln lounge. Service was excellent there.

Visited Hotshots for the first time with my family. It opened in Decatur within the past two months. It was not the best of visits, but the restaurant has potential.

One of my family members with me was my 18 month old grandson. Unfortunately, the restaurant had no high chairs or booster seats. We almost left, but stayed. The grandson had to sit on an adult’s lap and eat. Not the best start.

The server was friendly and welcoming. She was slow to bring drinks and slower to refill them. In fact, the water drinkers had to wait for the server to take an empty glass to the back, refill it and return. Too many wasted steps went into this process. Bringing a pitcher to the table for refills would have been better.

The food was so, so. The Nachos were good. The beef had a nice kick and it was garnished nicely. However, I had ordered chicken nachos. I did not complain or request a refund.

The appetizer sampler platter had overcooked ravioli and mini tacos. The tater tots were good. The honey glaze on the boneless wings was flavorful, but the wings were tough.

The staff was friendly. The manger gave us free fries for no apparent reason than to be nice. I appreciated the gesture, as did the grandson.

This could become a nice sports bar. There are many mounted flat screens throughout the restaurant. They were on and showing a variety of games. The back room has pool tables and dart boards. It could give the other local sports bars a run for the money if service and food quality improve.

I see potential in the Decatur Hotshots. I will return in 30 to 45 days to see if there is improvement.

Visited first time on a Wednesday late afternoon for my husband’s birthday…his choice. He ordered a burger with onion rings and commented onion rings were very good. Burger was good. We ordered the quesadilla as an appetizer, which was also very good. I ordered traditional wings with dry garlic pepper flavor. They were big wings, but very salty. Good size. Atmosphere was not our taste in music, but many, many screens to watch sports. Very dark inside, music louder than our taste to enjoy conversation.

The service was horrible and laughable. The burger tasted like plastic packaging. The potatoes tasted unwashed like soil. I love the location but I will NOT go back. I miss the old Paco’s Sol Bistro there. That was a much better choice.
