I had such a great experience at Hot Box! The food was fresh, hot, and full of flavor — easily some of the best pizza I’ve had in a while. Everything came out quickly and exactly how we ordered it.
Our server, Jacob, was absolutely amazing. He was friendly, attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed the entire time. He checked in without being overbearing and had such a positive attitude that it really made the whole experience even better. You can tell he genuinely cares about his customers.
If you go to Hot Box, definitely ask for Jacob — he’ll take great care of you. I’ll definitely be coming back!
When I went to pick up my order, which DoorDash was already paying HotBox Pizza for, the employee (a heavier woman with blondish brown hair) told me that I couldn’t pick up my order because it was showing as a delivery order in the DoorDash app on their end. I showed the woman my ID and my phone to prove that I was who I claimed to be and that DoorDash changed my order to a pickup order. It changed nothing.
Then she went and hovered around the iPad for 5 minutes with her back toward me while I’m still waiting to be given my food that again, DOORDASH IS ALREADY PAYING FOR. Then some heavy redhead man got involved and told me I had to wait for DoorDash to update my order before I could pick it up.
5 more minutes pass by and the redhead man tells me I have to cancel my pickup order and RE-BUY MY ORDER THAT DOORDASH WAS ALREADY PAYING THEM FOR, before they will give me my pizza.
I tried re-explaining to the redhead man that I was already refunded for my meal when they changed it to a pickup order and that DOORDASH WAS STILL
PAYING THEM FOR MY ORDER, but he refused to listen to me and began raising his voice at me and said “I KNOW! THAT’S WHY I’M TELLING YOU THAT YOU HAVE TO RE-BUY THE PIZZA WHEN YOU CANCEL YOUR ORDER!”
I was so tired of these idiots whose last two brain cells were struggling to understand what I was saying and refusing to understand what I was saying. I had been dancing in The Nutcracker all weekend and I was tired, sore, hungry, and just wanted to go home so I did what they said. And of course, canceling my PICKUP order gave me a $0.00 refund BECAUSE DOOR DASH ALREADY REFUNDED MY ORDER WHEN THEY SWITCHED IT TO PICKUP BECAUSE THEY FULLY INTENDED TO CONTINUE TO PAY HOTBOX FOR MY ORDER.
So not only did DOORDASH pay for my order, but they made ME re-buy my order, which was COLD and SOGGY.
Just because DoorDash refunded me, it doesn’t mean HotBox is entitled to MY REFUND from DoorDash; especially when DoorDash was going to continue to pay them in exchange for ME picking up the pizza. And even if they were going to force me to re-buy my order, they could have at least re-made my order instead of giving me food that had been sitting out for 60 minutes!
I will NEVER order from ANY HotBox establishment ever again.
Salad and Wings were really good. Bread sticks and pizza not so much.
