Absolutely delicious. In addition to the pork katsu curry and miso soup/fried tofu pictured, we had the udon and gyoza. Everything came out as expected. Our servers were very friendly and helpful with questions on the menu.

Got the Tonkotsu spicy! Extra noodles (I shouldn’t have, portions are huge) and an order of Gyoza. Everything was amazing! Service to match – lots of smiles, very attentive. Ok, I finished it all… don’t judge me lol. Looking forward to my next visit.

This ramen had me speechless!! The portions are massive. Totally wish I got my own bowl. The flavor in both ramens is just amazing!!
I really recommend the shrimp appetizer. The photo doesn’t capture that flavor!!!!! MHMM!
I will say it’s a little hard to hear because it’s a small business.

Very crowded during lunch but the food is great and very reasonably priced! Staff is very friendly and food comes out quick provided how full they are. Will be coming often for work lunch.

My husband and I had a great experience at Hotaru. Despite its smaller size, there was a steady flow of customers, which is always a good sign. We were seated quickly and our food arrived in a timely manner. We started with the fried gyoza, which I personally prefer pan-fried, but they were still pretty tasty. For entrees, I ordered the Tonkotsu Ramen while my husband had the Shoyu Ramen. Both were excellent and came with a house salad with ginger dressing. The staff was friendly and the service was efficient. We’re already looking forward to our next visit to try the karaage chicken and ice cream wafer sandwich!

Cozy little place for great ramen and other Asian dishes. They have an awesome crunchy chicken dish, great broths, an assortment of noodle bowls to be discovered. The staff is very friendly and the cooks are top notch and get the job done perfectly every time we visit. If it is a rainy day then come get a bowl of hot delicious noodles. Definitely a great place to go when you want some hearty broth and piping hot noodles.

The chick chick ramen was honestly a little underwhelming, but I loved the spring rolls and the chicken karaage appetizer. My friend got the Asari ramen and he loved it—the clams were fresh and the broth was very good. I probably wouldn’t come back, but it was solid! Staff was friendly and the food was fresh!

Food was good and was worth the price. Portions were big enough to fill you up as well. I loved how simple the options were but how mixed they were as well. Super simple but nothing crazy.

The Good:
It’s cheap, and while it’s not traditional Japanese, it’s got a Korean vibe going on.
You get a mountain of food for your money – seriously, the portions are huge! That Pork Katsu with Demiglace sauce sounds like a winner, and you definitely won’t leave hungry. The staff is hustling, which is always a plus.
The Not-So-Good:
The menu is a bit limited if you’re looking for a ton of variety. And if you’re after authentic Japanese flavors, this isn’t the spot.
The Bottom Line:
Hotaru is a solid choice if you want a filling meal that won’t empty your wallet, especially if you’re into Korean-inspired dishes.
Don’t come expecting a deep dive into Japanese cuisine, but that Pork Katsu sounds like it’s worth checking out, just be prepared to loosen your belt!

My group had three different types of ramen, all delicious, and the agedashi tofu. It was our first time trying tofu prepared that way, so don’t have a point of comparison, but it was very good. The portions on the ramen are generous. Rather than waiting on the restaurant for a table, they asked people to sign a clipboard with their name and phone and either wait outside (they had an outdoor heater set up) or in their cars, and they called us when our table was ready. The wait wasn’t too long on a Saturday evening.
