i ordered hot and spicy beef. and based on photos online, this is what it’s supposed to look like (first pic). the second pic is what i got. also, it’s literally mostly vegetables. like where is the beef?? and it’s not spicy either. sure i ordered mild cuz i didnt know how spicy they make it, but this is literallt sweet. i guess i cant come back to this place anymore since they messed up my last beef dish too (szechuan beef, and I got THIS EXACT DISH THAT I JUST GOT SOMEHOW). idk if all their beef dishes are just the same at this point.
Edit: the first photo is what google says hot and spicy beef is supposed to look. the second photo is the “hot and spicy beef” that i received. i took that picture the same night, as soon as i got home from picking it up.
as for the response the business gave:
Okay, so you’re saying the second photo is szechuan beef. in that case, you agree that that’s not hot and spicy beef. that proves that my most recent order was still incorrect, but i’ll give you points for the previous order being correct. i guess it doesn’t matter that i have my online order receipt that specifically states i ordered hot and spicy beef and what i got was not at all the correct dish.

Hot Wok on 13th Street is truly a hidden gem. In my opinion, they have the best Chinese food in North Central Florida, and honestly, some of the best this side of China. The food is always served fresh, hot, and full of flavor. Their portions are incredibly generous, so you definitely get more bang for your buck. Every meal I’ve had from them has been consistently delicious, and the quality never disappoints. If you’re in Gainesville and craving great Chinese food, Hot Wok is absolutely the place to go!

I don’t like to be too quick to leave a review, but I’ve been coming here for years and I haven’t been disappointed! This is definitely one of the best restaurants in town! The service is superb, the portions are big, and the flavor is delicious! The prices aren’t unreasonable, and I always come back when I desire something that’s filling, or comfort food. The bourbon chicken is disgusting- it was very dry, chewy & no smokey flavor. It was not fresh chicken from that day, I can guarantee you that, I’m sure they microwaved it from frozen and tossed it in sauce I’ve only had delivery from here twice, but I will never again waste my money like this again.
