I’m not usually a pizza person, but I really enjoyed Hot Tomatoes! The pizzas only come in one size: huge. We ordered two pizzas for 4 people and had 6 slices left over. The dough was great — thin but kept its shape, chewy and crunchy.
My favorite pizza that we tried was the Big Shrimp with white sauce. The garlicky buttery savory flavor was addictive. I could have used more shrimp, but honestly the cheese and seasoning was so good I didn’t mind.
We also got the Goat pizza (cheese, prosciutto, arugula, balsamic) which was also good though I much preferred the shrimp.
We also tried the tomato soup, which I really liked because it wasn’t sour. It came with “forget me garlic knots” which were good but not necessary given all the pizza!
Overall the prices are very reasonable for the quality and size of what you get. I’d come back!

PHENOMENAL pizza! Perfect crust- no flop! So flavorful and fresh. Kind and efficient hospitality. A Somerville + Greater Boston area GEM Also their playlist kept playing bop after bop- had me singing with the staff!

Ordered a large takeout order for a party, wanted to support a local place in exchange for higher quality pizza and Hot Tomatoes exceeded my expectations. Great pizza options, the ingredients were fresh and tasted high quality, and even a plain slice felt elevated/tasted more unique. Well received by my guests so I will be ordering again the future.

Strong social media kept my attention on this wonderful group. Being in the neighborhood on specific day actually brought me into the doors thankfully 🙂 I like many people who are raised in and around Metro Boston no food because we grew up in it. Pizza is one that we’ve all had our favorites and anyone in those food. It’s never just one. It’s always a couple of great places. This place now sits up in that conversation. The dough is incredibly light on what is a very large pizza. Having it be late, but also have some rigidity when you’re eating it is not. The flavoring in this pie has some garlic in there and some other spices that you wouldn’t normally see, but they’re elegantly handled and just enough to make you notice that you’re eating something a little bit more elevated. Hot tomatoes, and Team, thank you for a great afternoon of wonderful food and conversation. We will be back for sure. 🙂

Somerville has absolutely changed over the years esp with food. But finally stopped in here a couple of times now and love it. We have had great service & love the food we have had. Met the owner Philip who is very friendly & still one of the few Italians we flind out has a fruit stand on the weekends in Haymarket. . Very good food & atmosphere. Absolutely going back

Just had lunch at this fantastic Somerville restaurant. The pizza was cooked perfectly Roma style the Panini sandwich with Chicken cutlet prosciutto roasted peppers oil basil was outstanding. Great service and ambience just outside Union Square on Bow Street.

Give it a try! I went in expecting nothing, and I was completely surprised. The prices are fantastic for the generous portions, and the taste is really delicious. Great food, affordable prices, and a nice, clean, and fresh atmosphere.

Great sandwich spot, with solid future potential. Everyone here always tries as hard as they can to give you what you want and need. Consistent quality with the food and they have a good bar but not enough people come in to drink, looks like. Their hospitality is solid so they just need a music playlist with soul and some kind of curated beer and shot/cocktail situation. There’s tough nearby karaoke competition most nights. Anyway, they’re a good neighborhood joint and they deserve business. They should get their fryolater fixed and do brined mozzarella sticks and serve beer from four star farms and the alchemist, some led-flickering candles, I dunno I’m spitballing and rambling but tl;dr this place is great.
