This morning, I ordered two fried dumplings, callaloo&saltfish with some fried plantains on the side and cornmeal and banana porridge. When I tell you this hit the spot for my brunch. I appreciate the hands that was in the pot and the hands that prepared my plate thank you so much.

Updating review a week after going back to try their jerk chicken.

The best jerk chicken I’ve had upstate. No joke Was soooo good I went back the following day to have it and make sure I wasn’t dreaming. WoW. Just WoW. Well seasoned, marinated, juicy, and spicy. Had me sweating deep

Going to try their fish meals and soups and see. Will update more then.

Found this gem downtown Albany in the Lark Street area by accident and decided to check it out. Beautiful ambiance. Very quiet, good seating, nicely decorated, and open. Staff was very friendly, courteous, and welcoming. A lot of great menu choices. Decided to try the curried goat, rice and peas, and plantains and it was ok. Would have been better if stronger curry was used. Plantains were over ripe and a little burnt. Will go back to try other menu options and see. Will update review then. Definitely recommend checking it out

Ordered large chicken Rasta pasta, received large container with little bit of food and literally 2 pieces of chicken. It tasted like a seafood boil but looked like vegetable Rasta pasta. Very dry. And definitely not made fresh when you order. Been sitting all day, noodles overcooked. That was definitely my last visit. And they are very rude. I literally wanted my money back but I was at work. Be careful going there.

Review as delivery driver: service is extremely slow and employees are generally no where to be found and do not provide updates on wait times. I have never picked up an order here that was ready when it said it would be. Expect to wait atleast 10 minutes, tho I have had orders taken upwards of a half hour or more. Currently writing this while I’ve been waiting for 20 minutes. With the only update coming from me over hearing someone in the back telling another employee “tell him two minutes”. That employee continued to not tell me this for almost 5 minutes while they grabbed stuff from the back. Staff is genuinely nice but also dont care about delivery drivers. Place is unequipped to handle delivery and shouldn’t offer it if they can not keep up.

The place is old , the young lady who took our order was very nice however she deceived us none of the food was spicy and the pasta was overcooked. Also the bathrooms had overflowing garbage cans and only the men’s restroom worked. If you do choose to order from her pay in cash order in person and check food before leaving

I went to this restaurant yesterday evening, after arriving in town. I brought small stew chicken, small jerk chicken, three chicken patties and large oxtail(which I believe was not even oxtail)… I PAID 67.60…. 1st impression they didn’t greet us at all( there was a young women and an older man at the register) After about 5mins we were acknowledged. I ordered the food and waited for my food. We ate the chicken patties while waiting for the other food( they were okay). I heard another customer mention the large oxtail and you only recieve 5 pieces with the orde said she will never order that again. The cost of a large oxtail is $26! When my food came out I checked, there was only 5 oxtails FOR $26!!! The food was cold/warm like they tried to microwave it. I asked the young woman why does a large order only come with only 5 oxtails, she replied “I don’t know what that has to do with me” “I dont make the plates”. I asked her if she could get someone who knew…. She then went in the back to grab the older man(from earlier). This made it no better because he was so dismissive of my issue( there was not type of customer service). The older man just stated you only get five and walked off…. So I then asked the girl if I could have a refund, she stated no. So I asked for someone else. The owner came out and told me the price is because oxtail cost went up and he gets his seasonings from Jamaica….. He ended up giving me three extra oxtails(neck bones)…He said he has the best food out there and I would see it is worth the cost once I taste food. I was extremely disappointed …. oxtail, stew and jerky was nasty, not authentic at all. I’ve eaten at over 30 Jamaican restaurants and this by far was the 2nd worst…… Overall food is over priced, customer service is a 0, and definitely not worth a visit! Don’t spend your money where it’s not appreciated and your pockets are being taken advantage of! If I could give a zero I would have!

I just ordered a fish fry and it seems like one fish was cut into a sliver which I paid eight dollars for. . I don’t know if they were downsizing because of what’s going on, but I definitely did not have a whole piece of fish.

I ordered the large oxtail meal for $30 and received 5 oxtails!! I ordered with cabbage and rice/peas.
Rice and Peas is $5. The cabbage is $5. So I just paid $20 for 5 pieces of meat which is mostly bone. The disrespect!

Lastly, the portions 80% rice/peas.
5% cabbage, didn’t even hit the bottom of the container.
10% sauce because they drowned the food making it seem heavier and fuller.
5% meat because I only got 5 pieces.

Don’t waste your time with this restaurant! I gave them too many chances. Also their waiting time is ridiculous. If it’s going to take an hr, say that, not 20 mins.

If the resturant goes under, no one will miss them.

I wanted fried chicken with jerk sauce. It was as if the chicken was already cooked and they fried it again. It was so dried out I couldn’t chew it. I tossed it out. Beef patty was ok but not at all spicy.
Guy inside was friendly.
