I want to give a HUGE shout out to Hot Rods! My family and I faced one of the largest heartbreaks a family could endure, Hot Rods fed us not once but twice ! My brother from another mother set up a huge cater order for last Thursday and the Owner herself being intertwined in our unit took it upon herself to feed our family on Friday night. I promise you both nights contribution were super appreciated and not an ounce wasted! But who could waste a morsel of this places food?! Thank you Jenny we love you!

Please Read Until The End…….. The lady that has the key to my heart lives in another city and I wanted to do something different for her Valentine’s gift. So I decided to have lunch delivered to her job. Unfortunately, her job doesn’t have any nice eateries within the area. Not to be outdone, I called Hot Rod Bar-B-Q which is about 30 minutes away from her job. I explained my valentine goal to the mgr. She was very courteous, attentive and willingness to assist. But due to the delivery distance, she had to call the owner to get approval and guidance. The owner embraced my request to provide a Valentine’s Day lunch and personally called me to let me know that she is not only approving my delivery request, but she is going to personally make the delivery. I was completely blown away with this extraordinary level of customer service. But wait! It gets better. The owner attempts to make the delivery to find that the school is closed for a holiday break. The owner calls to notify me of the closure. I was happy with the effort and was ready to take a loss. But the owner tells me that she wants to see this effort successfully through, she asked me to give her the personal address for the delivery to be made with no additional charge. She made the delivery and shared the efforts made with to do something different and special for her valentine. I received BIG KUDOS because the food was excellent, the extra effort made and she has never had a gift of that nature for Valentine.
I can not wait to get the opportunity to visit the area to make my way to Hot Rod Bar-B-Q in Ruston, Louisiana to enjoy the food and personally thank the owner/staff for going above and beyond in their customer service for me.

Buffet style Two meat plates. Sausage and ribs with two sides. Little steep for the price of food you get…$21.50+. Sausage was okay, rib(2) were dry, bland, and had a lot of liquid smoke on the rib. The beans are store bought, and the lady is opening a can behind the counter. Potatoes salad is from Walmart, and so is the coleslaw. The peach cobbler was burned to a crisp in the pan. The charge for ice water in a cup was 3.75$ in an 16 oz cup.. speaking of which just seen lady drop cups she was opening to refill the cups in the holder, and she drop on the dirty floor and just put them on top of the existing ones in the housing. Which in question my drink cleanliness is it sanitary? While lady restocking items and then playing with her hair at the same time.

Always yes to Hot Rod’s! It’s consistently good food for a fantastic value, and the staff is always so nice and friendly. I have lived in Ruston since 2012 and have always loved this place. (We got their catering for our rehearsal dinner at our wedding in 2016!) It’s one of my favorite stops for lunch, but it also is a great option for takeaway. They have student specials as well. I highly recommend the loaded baked potato or the sandwich plate!

Was told this BBQ place had awesome loaded bake potato soup so decided to send some to my local friend. Included the brisket plate with sides to make a full meal. Her feedback was the entire order was super good! Staff was very friendly handling the delivery order and got the food their on time and still hot. Will be eating here more often when I visit Ruston.

I am always satisfied with the dinner meat plate I purchase from Hot Rod Barbeque. The cost of the food and portion size is comparable to other barbeque restaurants in the area. On Tuesdays senior citizens get a discount, and on Wednesdays a large stuffed baked potato with meat is $9.00. The meals are flavorful. I was impressed with the friendly & helpful staff.

Amazing little BBQ place, a true gem. Their service setup is built for speed, very efficient and simple to order. There’s a drive thru and tables to dine in. Pricing is great also, very affordable and perfectly in line with quality. We will definitely be driving from West Monroe to come here more often. Worth a stop for sure.

The first time I try a new barbecue joint, I like to get a combo so I can taste more menu items. I ordered a 3 meat combo with brisket, ribs, & pulled pork. The brisket failed the pull that. The flavor was just ok and it didn’t have that Texas tenderness. The pulled pork was average. The beans came from a can and the slaw wasn’t great either. The ribs were the best thing I tried and would be the only thing that would make me want to go back.

Great atmosphere, great food, wonderful atmosphere. Presley made sure to come and check on us and make sure everything tasted ok. Will definitely be coming back.
