Absolutely fire 10/10 food spot. Never cooked my own steak before but the staff were very helpful and walked us through the full process. Owner and staff are great people. Will definitely be coming back

Disappointing overall. For a place rated so highly, I expected much more. I went with a friend and we both left underwhelmed, which was a bit embarrassing for me as I chose to dine here.

The restaurant was empty when we arrived (which should have been a clue). Though service was good, the food was not. The lamb chops were bland, chewy and under-seasoned, and the fillet steak on the hot plate was let down by lukewarm, watery sauces. The garlic butter was nice, but it couldn’t make up for the rest.

The fillet steak was decent value for money, but this was overshadowed by the lamb chops – at £3 each, they were really poorly done and something I could have cooked better at home.

It wasn’t the worst meal I’ve had, but it certainly didn’t live up to the reviews. I think the reason the average rating looks so high is because they prompt diners to leave a Google review before they leave.

Overall, it’s near the bottom of the steakhouses I’ve tried in Yorkshire. I wouldn’t return unless there were some major improvements.

Amazing food, amazing service, amazing experience. Cooking your steak on a sizzling hot rock at the table is both fun and delicious. The meat is top quality, tender, juicy, and full of flavour.

Sides are fresh, sauces are tasty, and portions are generous. Staff are friendly, helpful, and make you feel welcome from start to finish.

If you love steak, this place is unbeatable. If you’ve never tried steak like this, you need to.

Very pleased with the service. Arrived and was immediately seen to by member of staff – Saeef. He was well mannered and treated me and friends with the upmost respect. He went through the menu and answered all questions we had. I was set on the sirloin steak. Saeef ran through everything, from cook time to desired ways of eating the steak. I was very impressed with the food and the young man. Definitely recommend this place. Brilliant food and service.

Best steak iv had in ages and great service. Meal and mocktail offer is so worth it. Cooking the steak yourself is also quite fun.

I’m a burger chain restaurant owner and have eaten in some of the best restaurants around the world. This by far is the best steak I have ever had in my life. The cheese cake is out of the world as well.

What a fantastic experience!

Hot Rock in Bradford is more than just a meal — it’s a masterclass in meat, hosted by the charming and effortlessly passionate Sonny. From the moment we stepped through the door, he greeted us like old friends and immediately swept us up in his world of sizzling steaks and global culinary flair. Having worked in kitchens all over the world, Sonny brings a depth of experience that turns dinner into theatre. He personally guided us through the hot rock cooking method, with the kind of enthusiasm that makes you think, “Why haven’t I been cooking my steak on a lava slab all my life?” As someone who’s worked in the meat trade, I can say without hesitation — this man knows his stuff, and then some.

We both went for the sirloin (by recommendation) — a bold choice, but one that paid off in juicy, buttery dividends. Sonny’s homemade infused butters (think garlic, herb, and something unidentifiably magical) gave us the tools to elevate the experience from “bit of fun” to “culinary revelation.” The novelty of cooking your own steak at the table was quickly eclipsed by the incredible flavours — tender, perfectly seasoned, and sizzling with satisfaction. What started as a quirky night out turned into one of the best meals we’ve had in ages.

And just when we thought we couldn’t possibly be more impressed, out came that deconstructed cheesecake. Creamy, indulgent, and dangerously moreish — hands down, the best either of us has ever had. This isn’t just a hidden gem — it’s the kind of place you want to gatekeep, but feel morally obliged to shout about. So next time you want to impress someone special (or just treat yourself like royalty), head to Hot Rock. Go for the steak, stay for the cheesecake, and let Sonny turn your dinner into a work of art. We’re fully converted.
