Yuhm! We keep going back and trying new things. With each experience, the food gets better and I find myself incorporating it into my normal diet. I now order plates without salt and it seems to be the best balance for me. Today, I tried vegetarian korma. It is sweet but warmly robust! The feeling and taste left on my palate is unique, lasting, delightful, comforting… I enjoy the plain chapati bread and I really really like a side of the yogurt, cucumber, and nicely herbed raida. Thank You Hot Plate! Looking forward to the next experience already.

Trying many Indian restaurants in the US, this is the worst among them. I had ordered kadai chicken and samosa and I realized from one bite that it was no way made by any professional Indian cook. Cooking and Blending tomatoes do not make a great curry, trust me. Plus, it was so salty that i could not eat second bite. Really disappointed and can’t trust reviews as well.

Pretty decent option for dining in Vermilion. The naan was fantastic but the butter chicken and another dish weren’t outstanding. Great chicken but the seasoning of the curries weren’t my favorite. Great service but not sure if I’ll come back. Pretty expensive too.

I’ve always enjoyed Indian cuisine but its hard to food a places that is good. Fortunately, this place does it right. The portions are great for the price. The quality of the food is great. Happy to see a new and unique place in a town that is over ran by pizza establishments. Just a piece of info for those that aren’t accustomed to Indian food, when they say spicy, they mean spicy. My personal favorite is the Chicken Vindaloo, its fire, literally its fire my mouth burned so good. Keep up the good work. 5/5!!!!

Tried Hot Plate for the first time. The food was excellent. Some of the best Indian food I have enjoyed. I think many times it is hard to review food that is take out as presentation and even flavor tend to be temporal. The take out was really good nothing lost here.

My family and I had the most wonderful dining experience at Hot Plate. The woman who was waiting tables and basically running the entire front of house was phenomenal! She was attentive, professional, helpful, and genuine. The food was delicious and plentiful, so we could all sample from all the dishes we ordered. And the garlic Naan was out of this world. We will visit Hot Plate on every trip to Vermillion.

Excellent Indian fare. Satisfying portions. I like that they offer three spice levels, mild, medium, and hot. My wife and I can order the same dish and I can get mine spicy and hers not so much. Would highly recommend! We’ll be back again and again!

The butter chicken was excellent. Be sure to try the naan. The only reason for four stars is the price is a bit higher than I expected. But it’s excellent Indian food for South Dakota. Don’t worry much about being too spicy. I’ve been to India, and spicy at Hot Plate is not spicy compared to real Asia spicy.

A dozen years ago or so I had the misfortune of booking my flights terribly and spent three days in Mumbai. This restaurant is the about the second best I’ve tasted state side to matching the cuisine I recall from all those years ago. The samosas could use a little more peas and the mint sauce is a bit too spicy, apart from that they are the best I’ve had in about 800 miles… Anyone know the exact distance to Seattle?

Wow! This place is so good! Better than the indian restaurant on my old block in Manhattan. We’ve ordered twice from Hot Plate and so far everything we’ve tried is delicious. It is quite spicy for midwest standards, but also really well balanced with flavor that even I can handle the heat (but fair warning to those who don’t like spicy—mention that in the special instructions and they will accommodate you). Definitely my favorite place in Vermillion. It’s great to have authentic Indian cuisine here.
