If you want fresh eats and get away from the norm, grab a bite here or get it to go. They are a small business that packs a flavor punch. There’s a great selection for your taste buds for its size of operation. I’ve been there 3 times and am always looking forward to the next visit there.
I’ve attached photos of the catfish dinner, Philly steak dinner, and BBQ tips dinner with fries and banana pudding. I talked to others and everything they had was great too with honorable mention for the ocra and Mac and cheese.
They make everything fresh and do not take long to expedite your order. The neighborhood area is a little dicey, but safe enough. The dining room is relatively small, but clean so I go at 11 am when they open.
If you want fresh fried chicken, call ahead and you’ll be pleased .
We purchased some bottles of hot and mild BBQ sauce when we were there and took them to work for our munching there.
They are friendly and fast to get what you want.

Small but nice. We both had the fried catfish. It may have been the best I’ve had in Albuquerque. The side dish portions were larger than most places. I liked the potato salad.

The fried catfish doesn’t disappoint! The pulled pork sandwiches are very good, the cornbread is a good sweetness and isn’t super dry. The truffle fries are packed with flavor. They have lots of options for lemonade flavors which you can mix and match. (The lemonade is very sweet.) The employees were friendly and helpful. Overall a great experience.

Dang! Walked into this restaurant and the delicious fragrance of different dishes hit me right in the face! I was greeted with their friendly staff and ordered an amazing green Chile cheeseburger. Their waffle fries are delicious and the salads are fresh. Definitely will be back!!!

**My 5 star review is being changed to 1 star. The female owner needs to learn how to run a business in a professional manner. Unfortunately, one person’s bad attitude can ruin the face of a once loved business. And most likely due to her horrible customer service skills or just plain stupidity, I’m missing apart of my order. I don’t even have DAMN BBQ SAUCE!!!!!!!! I feel SORRY for the male owner to be stuck with such an awful person as a business partner; poor man!! **

☝️Bernie Gene Meat Sampler w/ Dirty Rice AND Catfish w/ Macaroni cheese and Ocra with a strawberry lemonade for my mum and a mango lemonade for myself. My mom said her drink was too sweet, but I LOVED mine. I like my drinks to be super sweet, though!

Best Barbecue spot in Albuquerque! Delicious food for a great price. I had the Catfish, and it didn’t disappoint! Their take on the tartar sauce that comes with the catfish, is addicting. I got baked Mac N Cheese as my side, delicious. Definitely a place I would recommend to friends and family.

This is some really good barbecue. We had. The sampler which had brisket pulled pork, half a rack of ribs and some sausage. The ribs were excellent and so was the brisket. The pulled pork had a lot of fat in it and the sausage was pretty good. They have a good hot barbecue sauce or you can try the mild. We also had the fried okra which was excellent and we had the macaroni and cheese which was a little dry. They don’t have fountain drinks, only canned and bottled sodas and Arizona tea and water. There’s not a whole lot of room to sit in the restaurant itself so you may have to take it to go. I plan on going back to try the catfish and the wings.

Holy Moly!!! Right now I am sipping legit southern style sweet tea and savoring peach cobbler that is amazing! This place is so fantastic that I wanted to review it before I leave. First of all the owner is a badass that has wonderful service and charm. The chef is fantastic and makes hands down the best fried okra I have ever had in my life!! The catfish is the best I have had in ABQ, and the potato salad had more pepper in it than I am used to, and never knew I needed. It is incredibly affordable for such amazing food!! For all you New Mexican’s, the coleslaw has green chile in it, imma give it a go next time!!
