2/26/2026 I showed up to this location at 9:24pm because this establishment claims to be open until 9:30pm (that is the posted closing time online and on their front door). When I was pulling up, all the lights were on and so was the bright “open” sign. As soon as I parked in one of the front spots, the girl (with straight blond hair) behind the counter ran to the back to shut off the lights. It was six minutes before closing. Call me ridiculous for expecting them to stay open until they were supposed to, but ultimately I would be less offended if they were closed before I got there instead of waiting until we made eye contact to hastily act like they were closed and then laugh at us. At that point I took the hint; Hot Head Burritos hires people that don’t want to work or use their personal dislike for customers to close as soon as they show up. After the boy and girl laughed at their own antics, I didn’t want to interact with these mean people and left. I used to go here once or twice a week, but after the blatant disrespect, I’ll be making burritos at home from now on.
I really don’t know where they need to add more flavor. Use more seasoning? Buy fresher ingredients? The guacamole is one of the lowest tiered guacs I’ve ever had.
The more I reflect the more aware I am at how disappointing that meal was.
Bluffton just can’t catch a winner.
Edit:
I returned to give this location a second review. It did go well. I went around 6:45pm. The food was a bit hotter, which made everything better. I ordered the same thing with the exception of opting for their hot salsa instead of a sauce. The salsa was really good and tied the burrito together. It helped mask the strong cheese flavor, which in turn made it more enjoyable. The lettuce was fresher and more enjoyable as well. The tortilla is a bit too moist, sticks to the roof of your mouth sometimes, but it doesn’t break. Finally, the guacamole still has that unpleasant flavor.
Could probably season the black beans a bit, and change the guacamole recipe; but so much better and the staff was great. I didn’t catch her name but she wrapped a perfect burrito. Thank you Hot Heads – Bluffton for striving to improve. 4/5.
