Hot Dog King is the epitome of your classic small town hot dog joint. No corporate profits, decent and very affordable food, friendly service from folks who still talk like they’re from here. Give them a chance if you need a chili/slaw dog, a gyro, or mad decent steak fries in a pinch. You could give your money to some millionaire or you could spend it here.

My NC National Guard detachment stopped to eat here twice & both times, the food was filling and delicious!!! You definitely get your money’s worth!!!
And I don’t know how they survived the storm because the Swannanoa Rivee runs right behind the business & everything around them has been practically decimated.
Despite having a limited menu right now, they still have a good variety of options. So, if you are ever passing through the Swannanoa/Asheville area, be sure to stop in & show The Hot Dog King some love & support!!!!!

Not a bad pit stop for some grub when your in the mood. Nothing complex here but tasty enough and something quick. Staff was nice enough and the inside although dated was super clean and had outside patio available. Cheers!!

The place is a dump – fries always undercooked – it’s filthy – and they charge $2 in hidden fees without letting you know – do go unless you’re desperate and don’t wanna pay $18 for wings like me

Drove to the area from Raleigh and decided to stop here for lunch. Everyone was friendly from the moment we walked in then door. I enjoyed my steak sandwich combo. The fries were cooked perfectly and were my favorite type of fries (steak fries). Would love to eat here again!

This was the best restaurant we went to during our vaca. We had the BEST cheeseburgers and chili hotdogs!! The staff were super friendly, they were so kind and considerate. I highly recommend this spot!!

Ok…A hot dog restaurant with 5 stars! The bun was excellent and did not get soggy when filled with Chili and onions. The onion rings perfectly fried in clean grease. The place was clean. Specials clearly displayed and the service was friendly and quick. I will be going back soon

I’ve lived in Raleigh almost ten years but was born in the country. I have missed having a good hotdog that’s not $9 and not a gimmick. I came here just passing by the area and the food reminds me of home. 100% would recommend. Great hotdogs, great fries at a good price.

I did not like the hotdogs from here. Too bland for my taste. The dogs need to be grilled or fried. The chili and Cole slaw had zero taste. Ive eaten hotdogs from all over plus i make them all the time considering there one of my favorites. Figured a pla e called the “Hotdog King” would be on point Been sworn up and down this place is a go to for hotdogs. Maybe I caught them on a bad day. I will try again soon. 2 stars on the food for now. 2 cause the hotdogs looked great, but the taste wasn’t. Service was great and Atmosphere.
