The good: fast friendly service, poppy seed bun was good, hot dog was plump & flavorful. The bad: chili bland & flavourless. Cheese sauce yellow tasteless goo, only slightly above cheese whiz. chili cheese dog ruined by offensive “cheese” sauce & poor quality chili. Chili cheese fries couldn’t finish due to same low quality ingredients. Large soda also rather small for the money. Not recommended.

It’s been a while since we stopped but decided a hot dog sounded good. I ordered their Chicago dog and it was as expected. My wife ordered a hotdog with ketchup and mustard. Her’s came out with the hotdog, bun and wrapping covered in mustard and ketchup. To the point that it couldn’t be picked up without being covered in condiments. Not a great experience. Who would serve such a mess?

Good service and quick, nice staff and overall pretty clean. Wasn’t too busy when we went around 330, maybe a rush happened so reason some tables weren’t clean. Casual environment with a nice appeal. Food was a touch tasteless. Had a Chicago Dog and a Louisiana Dog – Chicago had too many onions, too big of a pickle spear, barely any tomato,and no celery salt. Louisiana could of had more sauce, onions were very low on taste, had to put ketchup on. I mean yes, it is a $5 Dog and we may be biased as premium hotdogs are our specialty, but that was why we stopped. You can certainly make an amazing hotdog. Decided not to purchase more, may stop again at a different location to see if maybe it is the kitchen as that can happen. Do not know the taste of other items. Stopped for dogs!

We have had Hot Dog Avenue cater 2 of our company meetings. We ordered the Gyros and Italian Combo.
They delivered the food on time and did the complete set up with Sternos to make sure the food stayed warm. They provided all the sides along with the bread, utensils, plates and napkins. Very impressed with the professionalism and of course the AWESOME food!. We will be using them again!

Im a bit torn, the Italian beef with giardinara was excellent, but the grilled chicken wrap was made with processed chicken pieces, and not good. The burgers were pretty pink in the middle and lacked any real flavor.

Can I give this place more than 5 stars!?
I am from IL and I really miss the food, so when I found this gem and decided to stop in with the family. Admittedly, I did not have the highest of expectations since every place I walk into out here that claims to serve Chicago style food usually disappoints.
However, Hot Dog Avenue managed to get it right! I can tell that this place knows what Chicago style actually means! We tried the Chicago dog, a cheeseburger and the pizza. The Vienna Beef hotdog was perfect and the burger was juicy and delicious. In terms of flavor, there was something left to be desired with the pizza, but the square cut and overall presentation definitely says “Chicago”. I would order the pizza again, but the next time we return I’m excited to try their Italian beef!
The decor, music and overall atmosphere made me feel right at home. It was as if Garibaldi’s and Portillos had a love child. Please check them out! They offer dine in, carry out and a drive thru. I am so grateful that we stopped in.

This place is a gem. If you live in the land of Culvers and McDonald’s, and want something better. Go get a Chicago dog, or a beef, or anything else thats not Culvers or McDonald’s.. They’re great! The people are amazing too.

Stopped in on our way through town. Very clean restaurant with drive through. Handicap accessible parking and ramp right at front door of restaurant. Tables and restroom wheelchair friendly. Self serve drinks of the Pepsi variety and Lipton tea. We ordered a hamburger, Chicago dog, chili fries and regular fries. All were fresh and really tasty. Super friendly staff! Enjoyed our visit and will return. Thank you for the enjoyable experience!

First time visiting and it was great. We had Italian Beefs, Gyros, and Chicago Dogs plus sides. Cheese fries were the only thing I didn’t prefer but everything else was excellent.
