I had the best experience here! I called the other day and placed an interesting order. The woman I spoke to was so kind, thoughtful, and funny as well during the course of our conversation. Another note, I would like to add that she was very patient, as I have a very sore throat, and it was very difficult to hear me. She gave me great recommendations. I ended up picking the blueberry bagel with strawberry cream cheese, like she recommended, which was amazing. My interesting order… keep in mind I’m pregnant so it’s a little odd lol which was everything bagel with pickles, dillweed, scallion cream cheese, and fresh scallions added, and of course bacon, was overall an amazing experience. New mommies definitely give that order a try! It’s an amazing little spot, everything was fresh and tasted delicious!

Hot bagel hands-down has the best breakfast sandwiches in the region! There is NO competition. The bagels are fresh. They have a wide selection and the sandwiches are big! But not to the point where you can’t hold it. It doesn’t fall apart and ruin your day. PERFECT PORTION! The inside is NO NONSENSE. Not really the “soup nazi” vibe but no frills for sure. Get in, place your order and get out! If you’re near a hot bagel, you gotta try it!

Bagels taste like a stale roll.
Actually the worst bagel I have ever had.
I’m totally confused how this place is busy and there’s more than one. I guess there’s no competition but still makes no sense to me.
FOOD – I went twice and the second time I thought maybe if I go early they will not be so bad. I went early and they still tasted terrible. Even the pork roll was not good these big thick slices that were not Taylor or Trenton.
MENU – breakfast sandwiches are $9.00. I don’t usually include price in my reviews unless you are way above the competition. They are the highest price I have paid for a breakfast sandwich from a bagel shop in all of NJ.
ATMOSPHERE/LOCATION – super weird place it looked unkept inside. When you open the door to walk in you most likely will hit someone.

Very below average regular bagel. Not a NY bagel. I requested the bagel to be toasted, but it turned out to be burnt but not warm (?). Too much cream cheese and the cream cheese is not good. Outside is not crunchy, inside is tough. Good and friendly customer service though.

I figured I would call my order in to avoid the crowd around 7:29 am. I ordered a pumpernickel bagel with cream cheese and a croissant with sausage. When I picked it up the cashier/woman says yes a marble with cream cheese. I said no it was a pumpernickel and she goes samething. It is not the bagel she gave me was pumpernickel and rye then the cost was $20. Then she set the register to accept my card and walked away holding a full conversation with another customer. If you are going to charge $20 for a bagel and a croissant the service should be much better. I will never go there again.

They ripped me off of my change. Didn’t have the item until I arrived to tell me, I accepted a refund. Gave me my money back for the item but, hello taxes are you lazy to do the math? Parfaits are not on the menu but I ordered on the site. Well take it down on the site if you don’t have it then. At least give me the correct change! I know establishments wouldn’t be happy if I short them.

Always a crowd and a hassle to get through here. The bagels are among the best but very expensive. $2 a piece for each bagel, $9 for a container of flavored cream cheese and then a credit card charge on top if you don’t want to pay cash?
I’ll keep going because my relatives love them and like me to bring them when I visit but this place isn’t for locals anymore.

This is probably the most overrated bagel shop I’ve ever been to and I’ve visited a lot! The bagels are mediocre at best! The prices are absolutely ridiculous! Why is a bacon and egg on a hard bagel $11?? It doesn’t make sense. The customer service is also terrible! The ladies at the cashier act like you’re inconveniencing them when taking an order. Not once have a had a pleasant experience. There was a bigger black girl that would gift attitude and a short, slimmer Hispanic woman that also didn’t even bother to look me in the eye or exchange pleasantries. The orders are routinely wrong. Last time i ordered, i paid for 3 bagels and only received two. I went back inside to let them know i was missing an item and i feel like they’re made my bagel bad on purpose, as if i was at fault for something? There was more cream cheese outside the bagel than there was inside. There are better places in the Northfield area for a breakfast sandwich. Would not recommend this location

I’ve been coming to hot bagels for over 15 years. They have always had and always will have the best bagels in NJ. However. The amount the prices have gone up the past few years is diabolical. I understand inflation and costs go up. But to sell a bagel sandwich once costing 4.50 to now 10$ is insane. To have the Arizona iced tea cans that cost 99 cents. To 3.50 is insane. Arizona never raised the prices for their product. That is fact. There is no excuse for the 300% increase in price except greed. A once affordable amazing hidden gem in Northfield is now an overpriced money grab. Such a shame that I have to limit myself coming here now because I’ll go broke if I do it often. I hope they can go back to their ways again soon. Im sure im not the only local who feels this way.
