I was excited to finally visit this establishment. I was never greeted, just ask what did I want.
I selected the teriyaki chicken & was recommended to get the zucchini and onions & it was amazing. Although the shrimp sauce was watery, the rice was good & the chicken was tender. I think they were a bit skimpy with the chicken too. I intended to give this place another try shortly after consuming, I immediately threw it all back up!! Not sure why so im on the fence.

Ordered from here, watched the person handing out the food hand the wrong bag to the car in front of me. Then tried to hand me the wrong food so I said no that’s not mine. Then he looked and pointed at the car in front of us to what I presume meant he gave my food to them. THEN watched the car in front of mine park, open the bag and box and pick through the food. THEN the worker asked the person in that car for that bag of food back to give it to me. After it had already been opened by a customer they shouldn’t have asked for it back OR GAVE IT TO ME. I will never be back!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hoshi has been a place I have frequently visited for pretty good Japanese food for many years. The food is honestly just ok. Not many options in Boiling Springs so probably only the convenience keeps people going here. Portion sizes are good, shrimp sauce is pretty good, rice texture is not very good, and the chicken is tough like everything has been sitting out and just reheated. I know the prices are going up everywhere but every time I go here it seems like it has went up a buck. 40 dollars for 3 plates with nothing to drink and only drive thru service seems a bit much for mediocre food. If you just want quick take out then this is ok but for comparable prices you can drive just a little more to sit down and enjoy a better meal with a nice glass of tea and let them clean up after too!

You’re in Boiling Springs and you’re craving Japanese food. More specifically, you want to drown some sautéed veggies and meat in that addicting pink sauce. Where do you go? Hoshi! Are you disappointed? Never? Is your wallet happy? Mostly! To be fair, is your wallet ever happy? Hoshi has good food at a good price. Portions are very generous. They have a low carb option, which is more veggies instead of rice. If you want local food, this is one of the best options.

Yamatos still has better shrimp sauce but overall food quality and portion sizes are much better at Hoshi. My favorite thing to get here is hibachi steak with mushrooms. I typically prefer teriyaki but the teriyaki has a weird flavor in my opinion. The employees are friendly enough and the food is very consistent. I think it might be the best express Japanese in Cleveland County.

Drive thru only, though the line was so long I walked up to the door. Beware the prices you see online are not current. I got 2 sides of chicken, I side shrimp and 4 sides rice and paid $38… way more than I was expecting. You cannot eat inside and will be charged for sauces.
